Hello great people of @Hive-Reachout, here I am once again with my submission for the week (prompt 39) with the topic: Relationship Red Flags.

There is no doubt about the facts that while dating your partner, there are some characters or behavior that you will observe to see if the both of you are compatible enough the spend the rest of your lives together or not. And those bad behaviors observed are termed “relationship red flags”. Some of which are disrespect, bad communication, extreme jealousy, physical/emotional abuse and many others.

So, in regards to this subject I will be pointing out some of the red flags I can not condone if my patterner is not willing to change. Some of these red flags are;

Disrespect
One of the things I can’t take from my partner is any form of disrespect. I’m saying this not because I’m a guy who like to be respected or anything as such, but I’m saying this because I understand the place of respect in a home. And I totally believe that respect is reciprocal. In as much as I needed my partner to respect me, I must also reciprocate the respect because every human deserves to be respected irrespective of gender or age.

Bad Communication
I believe that one of the things that keeps a relationship or marriage is when there is a good communication between the partners. Because in the absence of good communication there will always be misunderstanding and once there is no mutual understanding among the team then I sense a big problem. Understanding comes as a result of good communication. I’ve come to noticed that a lot of relationships that usual leads to abuse usually have this problem of communication. Therefore, any relationship that must work must have this sorted.

Control/Manipulation
Relationship is supposed to be a union of two good friends that loves, cherish and correct each other in love. Unfortunately, some men to be precise sees it as a platform or an opportunity to control and manipulate the woman to do what they want. They feel the head of the family is supposed to be in charge and whatever he says is final. I don’t think any relation can survive with that behavior. It’s quite unfortunate that nowadays we also have women who are manipulative and I can tell you for free that men hate that a lot. He might be able to bear it for a while due to one reason or the other but he won’t be able to take that forever.

Trust/Honesty
I strongly believe that if I can’t trust you while dating, I can’t trust you in marriage either. So, I see this as a serious red flag in a relationship. It’s unfortunate that double dating is gradually becoming a norm in our society today. Even at that I strongly believe in honesty and trust to one man or one woman in a relationship.

In conclusion
In my opinion, it is better to end a relationship that is experiencing multiple of these red flags before it’s too late.
Thanks for going through my entry for week 39 and I hope you enjoyed it.
