Welcome to another post here in the community.
Well, to start things off, for those who still don’t quite get it.
GlINTs rewards is an internal, non-transferable currency that we earn in the game by playing ranked matches in either Modern or Wild mode, or by burning those Soulbound Cards (the ones bound to the account and can’t be sold). The cool part is that we also earn GLINTs at the end of the season as an extra reward for the battles you’ve played.
In my first season earning GLINTs, it wasn’t a huge amount, but it was enough to have some fun.
I had the classic doubt about where to invest it. Maybe in Loot Chests or Soulbound Draws? I ended up going with the Draws, because I wanted to expand my card collection and maybe get lucky with something valuable.
After analyzing the prices and thinking it through, I decided to buy:
- 30 Common Draws (at 150 GLINTs each)
- 10 Rare Draws (750 GLINTs each)
In total, it cost me 12,000 GLINTs, with 4,500 going to the commons and 7,500 to the rares. I wasn’t expecting the best cards or those legendary Gold Foils (GF), but who knows.
For those who haven’t used this feature yet, here’s how it works:
You choose the rarity of the card you want, pay the GLINT cost, and receive a random Soulbound card of that rarity. It’s always just one card per purchase. And although Legendary Potions can’t be used in these draws, there is a base 2% chance of getting a Gold Foil card. That chance can double if you use Alchemy Potions. I haven’t done that yet since I didn’t have any, but maybe next time I’ll have a decent amount saved up.
With the 30 Common Draws, I managed to reinforce my collection of basic cards. I got some that I didn’t have and others that helped me get closer to leveling up. Some of them are really useful in low mana strategies, which I often use in lower leagues. Most of them were duplicates, but I really like MAR TOREN TRADER. Even though it doesn’t come with abilities at level 1, it has a solid set of stats and costs only 3 mana to use in a team.
From the 10 Rare Draws, I got the most interesting cards. One example is the Fire element creature DRYBONE MEGALODON, a solid frontliner with 3 melee attack, 6 health, 2 speed, and 3 armor. Its only drawback might be the high mana cost, which is comparable to better cards in the same bracket. There’s also COMMANDER SLADE, which probably needs no introduction. It’s all about dodging and striking back.
In my opinion, spending on this was totally worth it.
Even though I didn’t pull any Legendary or Epic cards, it was still a great way to invest my first GLINTs. Since I’m still getting started in the game, every new card helps, especially if I get duplicates and can level them up. On top of that, the GLINT system added an extra motivation to play ranked matches. Knowing that you’ll receive bonus currency at the end of the season, which can be traded for cards, potions, loot chests or even energy, gives you that extra push to climb leagues. It’s a really cool mechanic to keep players engaged.
But hold on, it wasn’t over yet.
While I was editing this post, rereading it and adding the images, I noticed I had exactly 8,200 GLINTs left. So I thought, why not go for an Ultimate Chest? That’s exactly what I did, LOL.
Oh no, I only got 2,280 Merits, so I went back to open a Gladius Pack or something like that. I’m still part of a guild, although I don’t have a strong enough collection to actually compete. So I prefer to stay out of Guild Brawls, just so I don’t mess things up for my teammates.
And when I opened the pack, this is what I got:
No comment on that one...
