I totally agree with you, even in my short time here I've seen a lot of them go to waste. I'm just lucky not to have experienced any major loss. In the end we just have to keep our eyes peeled for the right ones and when we find them focus on them.

I've made use of the discounted bridge before (even wrote this post about it), but i've never heard of bswap, thanks for bringing it to my notice. The reason I didn't include the discounted hive bridge is that its only for swapping between hive and swap.hive. Then again, i should have included it as its fees are so cheap (0.1%).
