We're drawing closer to the Polycub airdrop and as the minutes draw closer to the day, we're observing a steady rise in the price of Cub tokens. I suspect we'll continue this trend until the latter days of the airdrop.

Note that the Polycub airdrop will span 60 days, so this gives people enough time to accumulate tokens. The best case scenario will obviously be to buy Cub and put it into kingdoms.

The Polycub airdrop will basically be centred around the cub tokens that you have staked. So, while kingdoms work a peach, you can also earn from staking in the farms.

naturally, impermanent losses will be a factor in the airdrop. Unlike the SPS airdrop where you earn double of what you normally earn from single token staking/holding, this airdrop is in reverse.

So, in essence, if for example, you have assets in the Cub/BUSD farm, the number of Cub in the mix will be reducing as the price of Cub rises against the dollar. This is not an ideal situation but on the plus side,at least you're farming cub at the highest APR and multiplier, so you can increase your cub holdings.

Steady scheming

As the airdrop draws closer, I'm also thinking up schemes that I could use to gain maximum awesomeness from the airdrop. My goal is to get as many Polycubs as possible but I don't know if my current stake is up to the standard I need.

So, I was thinking of a way that could technically work out in favour of more Polycub for me. The main reason behind this plan is the fact that I am exclusively invested in the Cub/BUSD farm.

This means that as the price of Cub rises, and will continue to rise throughout the airdrop, my cub volume on the farm also reduces. meaning that during snapshots, I will continue earning fewer Polycub, assuming the price of cub continues to rise.

To cater to my problem, I was thinking of mixing things up a bit, to maximise the number of polycub I can get. I also need to stack Cub tokens that I'll reinvest into farms.

Since I farm cub tokens every day, naturally, I will be adding them to Cub kingdom. However, since the price of Cub tokens will most likely be gaining against BUSD, I might as well sell some of it.

So in essence, the first idea will be to;

  • Farm cub on Cub/BUSD farm
  • Harvest Cub
  • Stake half in kingdoms and sell the other half for BUSD
  • Use BUSD to buy Polycub.

I'll only have about 10 cub tokens to sell every day, so it won't do much in driving down the price of the asset against BUSD. Every little drop counts.

Alternative scheme

Alternatively, if Polycub comes around and it hits with the same pressure that Cub hit the scene, we could have it trading it upwards of $7 initially. If that happens and I earn a couple of Polycub tokens, I'll bounce funds in the opposite direction as well.

  • Earn Polycub daily
  • Sell half of the polycub in my possession
  • Buy Cub and stake in kingdoms to increase Polycub airdrop
  • Rinse and repeat.

So basically, I'll be sending value in the opposite direction, to increase my Polycub airdrop. I'll be keeping half of the polycub and selling half.

Chances are that I'll have to pivot between the two schemes at some point of the airdrop. I'll just have to observe where the market is going and pick my moments.

I'll probably make more schemes along the way that will generally revolve around transferring value across both platforms. The most important thing is that at the end of the day, I'll have successfully started a decent farming operation on the Polygon network.
