Christmas, the mere mention of the word conjures up images of twinkling lights, festive decorations, and warm feelings. For me, Christmas has always been a time of wonder and a time to connect and reconnect with loved ones, and create memories that last a lifetime. Among the many Christmases I've celebrated, one experienced stands out as particularly special Christmas.

You know, Christmas is the biggest occasion of us. It is celebrated on 25 December all over the world because we think the birthday of Jesus Christ is on that day. But the interesting thing is we don’t know the actual date and this date was decided by the church in the early fourth century. Since then it has become the annual religious festival for us. Moreover, in many countries people have taken the day as cultural celebration.

Every year, my siblings and I always anticipate Christmas morning, but I never for once knew that last year Christmas was going to be different.

Every Christmas dad who is a Nigerian police officer have always been left out due to his work but everything make changed last year when he got promoted into a higher rank.

For the first time we had a full house Christmas celebration last year and the experience was remarkable Even though dad had to come over with his old friend who was so picky about every little thing. But once thing I did love about the friend was his passion for GOD.

And then, of course, there was the food oh, the glorious food! My elder sister was an exceptional cook, and Christmas food was amazing to say. Friends came around and feast on roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, fried rice, chicken meat, and soft drinks. I remember being busy that whole day to the point which I didn't get to taste the food not until evening when I remember that I haven't eaten yet. I went to serve myself and I found an empty food flask to the point I got so furious. But at some point I had no other option rather than controlling my anger because I had the most visitors that day.

Aside from that we were able to have a family time to discuss about how to make the family even more better

As I look back on those magical Christmases at my whole family, I realize that they instilled in me a sense of wonder, a sense of joy, and a sense of connection that I carry with me to this day. They taught me that Christmas is not just a holiday, but a time to come together with loved ones to create new memories.

In a world that often seems to value material possessions over meaningful connections, my favorite Christmas experience reminds me of what truly matters. It's a timeless tale of joy and togetherness, of love and laughter, of warmth and wonder. And as I celebrate Christmas with my own loved ones, I strive to recreate that magic, to pass on the traditions and values that my grandparents instilled in me, and to create a new generation of Christmas memories that will be cherished for years to come.
