Cambiar de década me ha hecho adentrarme en una cantidad de pensamientos que en cierto modo me están ayudando para bien; y es que yo pienso que si dios te permitió llegar a esta edad es porque espera más de mi o tal vez tiene algo deparado que pronto me lo hará saber.

Changing decade has made me enter into a lot of thoughts that in a way are helping me for good; and I think that if God allowed you to reach this age it is because he expects more from me or maybe he has something in store that he will soon let me know.
Yo no sé qué sea, pero ya estoy viendo algunas señales en el camino y estoy abierta a cualquier reto que se me presente. A esta edad ya no hay miedos, no hay mentiras, todo es más transparente, ya que lo único que se ansia es ser feliz y tener lo necesario para llegar a una vejez digna y sin arrepentimientos.
¡Si amigos! ¡La vida en un reto constante! Y hay que enfrentarlos. Por pequeños o grandes que sean hay que buscar la manera de ejecutarlos.
I don't know what it is, but I am already seeing some signs along the way and I am open to any challenge that comes my way. At this age there are no more fears, no more lies, everything is more transparent, since the only thing I crave is to be happy and have what I need to reach a dignified old age without regrets.

Y es que definitivamente “tener proyectos, alegra la vida” poder hacer lo que quieres, avanzar en los objetivos, cumplirlos y establecer nuevos retos es lo que hace que tu vida no sea aburrida, no sea monótona. Siempre he dicho que dejar de soñar es como dejar de vivir porque hace tu vida gris y una vida así le resta vida a la vida.
Por ello, te animo a que seas constante, luches por tus sueños e inventes nuevos proyectos si no los tienes en mente.

Hoy quiero presentarles lo que he llamado “mi proyecto de Mayo” quiero cada mes hacer un proyecto así de grande, que me saque de la zona de confort, que me saque de la cama y me haga soltar el celular o el control del televisor.
Confío en poder mantener mi mente más ocupada que de costumbre y cumplir con algunos proyectos de costura que tengo pendientes desde hacer tiempo.
Today I want to present to you what I have called "my May project" I want every month to do a project this big, that takes me out of my comfort zone, that gets me out of bed and makes me let go of my cell phone or the TV remote control.
I'm confident I can keep my mind busier than usual and accomplish some sewing projects I've had pending for a while.
“La colcha de la abuela”
Esta es mi segunda colcha de este tipo, la primera la hice en el año 2022 de muchos retazos de colores y quedó hermosa, desde ese día no se deja de usar en cualquiera de las camas de mi casa, es muy bonita y me transporta a momentos felices de mi infancia.
Ahora he querido hacer la segunda colcha de la abuela, así las llamo yo porque mi abuela Evangelina hacia todo tipo de colchas tejidas o de retazos de tela, todo confeccionado a mano.
"Grandma's quilt".
This is my second quilt of this type, the first one I made in the year 2022 of many colorful scraps and it was beautiful, since that day it is not stopped using in any of the beds in my house, it is very nice and transports me to happy moments of my childhood.
Now I wanted to make the second grandmother's quilt, that's what I call them because my grandmother Evangelina made all kinds of woven quilts or patchwork quilts, all handmade.
En casa mi mamá aún conserva tres de estas colchas y cuando las veo me admiro mucho de la paciencia que tenía mi abuela al hacer estos trabajos sin una máquina de coser.
Pues bien, si ella pudo yo también puedo y como me encanta aprovechar todos los recortes de tela que tengo en casa comencé a diseñar la idea en mi cabeza y gracias a Dios hoy esta materializada sobre esta cama.
At home my mom still has three of these quilts and when I see them I admire the patience that my grandmother had to do these works without a sewing machine.
Well, if she could I can too and as I love to take advantage of all the fabric scraps I have at home I began to design the idea in my head and thank God today is materialized on this bed.
El inicio:
Todo comenzó hace un mes cuando decidí darle un cambio a la casa, quería sacar y hacer algo con las telas y retazos de jean que tengo guardadas desde hace mucho tiempo a la espera de ser usadas, por otra parte es que ya quiero darle un cambio a mi cuarto de costura, quiero reinventarme y hacer cosas nuevas como les dije antes.
The beginning:
It all started a month ago when I decided to give the house a change, I wanted to take out and make something with the fabrics and jean scraps that I have kept for a long time waiting to be used, on the other hand is that I already want to give a change to my sewing room, I want to reinvent myself and make new things as I told you before.
Proceso de armado:
Lo primero que tenía pensado era hacer el centro del edredón o colcha con todos los recortes de jean que tenía, por eso decidí usar hasta el más mínimo retazo y combinar colores, también lo quería así desordenado, es decir, cuadros grandes, pequeños, largos y cortos.
Saque un montón de telas y me puse todo un día a sacar cuadros, para eso me ayude apoye en una mesa de madera, una regla y una buena tijera.
Posteriormente fui armando las tiras a lo ancho de la cama enfocándome principalmente en el centro del colchón.
Assembly process:
The first thing I had in mind was to make the center of the quilt or quilt with all the jean cuttings I had, so I decided to use even the smallest scraps and combine colors, I also wanted it messy, that is, large, small, long and short squares.
I took out a lot of fabrics and I spent a whole day to make squares, for that I used a wooden table, a ruler and a good pair of scissors.
Later I was assembling the strips across the width of the bed focusing mainly on the center of the mattress.
Proceso de costura:
Cuando ya tenía más o menos armado lo que quería me fui a la máquina de coser y comencé a unir cuadros con costura recta.
Por ultimo cuando tenía terminada mi colcha la uní a una sábana que casi no estaba usando y saqué la medida exacta de la sabana, luego les pase unas puntadas largas por todo el contorno para que no se movieran las telas a la hora de coser; así fui colocándole para terminar un sesgo azul por todo el contorno que combinara con la tela principal, osea el jean.
Sewing process:
When I had more or less assembled what I wanted I went to the sewing machine and started to join squares with straight stitching.
Finally when I had finished my quilt I joined it to a sheet that I was almost not using and I took the exact size of the sheet, then I put some long stitches all around so that the fabrics did not move when sewing; so I was placing a blue bias binding all around the contour to match the main fabric, ie the jean.
Yo no sé ustedes amigas pero cuando tengo mi mente ocupada me siento muchísimo mejor y hacer esta colcha me ayudo a poner orden en mi cuarto, abrir espacios para que lleguen cosas nuevas y ser muy feliz haciendo lo que más me gusta “Las manualidades”.
I don't know about you friends but when I have my mind busy I feel much better and making this quilt helped me to put order in my room, open spaces for new things to arrive and be very happy doing what I like the most "Crafts".
