Fear is a normal thing for every human; it is an emotion that is capable of making the strongest person doubt themselves sometimes. Fear comes most times because we are unsure of what will happen next; we are afraid of disappointment, rejection, and making mistakes. I have experienced fear; there is this particular one that taught me that courage does not mean being completely fearless. There are times we can be afraid, but with courage we keep moving forward.
One day I will challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone and putting myself forward. I am this kind of person that prefers staying on my own, and I so much hate dreams because I am afraid. Fear has always made me question myself countless times. The question that always comes through my mind is, what if I make a mistake? What if people laugh at me? What if I am not good enough? What if I don't meet my target? The more I think about it, the bigger my fear.

I often try my best to avoid anything that will put fear in me. I always find excuses and stay in my comfort zone. The honest truth is that deep down inside me, I know that avoiding it will not make the fear disappear; rather, it will make me more afraid, and I will keep running whenever I face a similar situation.
It is not always easy to handle fear, but it will only take a courageous and determined mindset to fight fear. When I see myself in situations like this, I take a deep breath, and I remind myself that I am fully prepared and I will step out boldly. To be honest, at first I will be so nervous my heart will be beating so fast as normal. After some minutes something changes, and I realize that the situation was not as I imagined it in my head.
Little by little I become comfortable. I stop disturbing myself with what people will say and focus more on my mission and purpose. I stop trying to be perfect and simply allow myself to be myself. At the end of the program, I see myself being relieved. Not just about the relief, I will be so proud of myself. The important thing is I was able to face that thing that was scaring me instead of allowing the fear to make the decision for me.

I learned that fear often becomes bigger when we avoid it. The more powerful it seems, but when I face it, I realize that it was not as powerful as I thought. For the fact that a courageous person doesn't mean I will not face fear; rather, it means taking action even when fear is present. There are many times I have thought, but I still move forward; I try to put in my very best. To be honest, I still fear when I have to face unfamiliar things. I find myself questioning myself before taking some decisions. This thing called fear has not really disappeared from me, but with time it will.
One thing I have had a chance to think about is fear. Before now I saw fear as a warning to stop; currently I see it as a sign to grow. Life will always present us with situations that will make us uncomfortable. To be honest, I am so happy that I didn't allow fear to stop me. I have learned to have courage and always try.
