When I look at my younger brother while he was growing up, I do see myself in him. Traits are something that runs in the family even to the five generations, even if the woman marries outside or the man marries and brings her home. The children they will give birth to always share this trait
There is no child born in my family that doesn't have that. Oftentimes, people will say that my grandmother's genes are very strong. We hardly carry anything of my grandpapa, but grandma just shares the traits with all generations.
I once saw a family that has a particular trait, what's their traits? Every child born into that family has his or her hair looking as if it was dyed silver in the middle; there is no child born in that family that doesn't have it. Now that's traits.
In my family, we have this trait: every child born has a side gap tooth from my mother's side. I didn't like meat when I was little because each time I ate meat, it ended up hanging on the side gap teeth, which was a burden to me. So one day, I said to my mom, can I close these teeth, she laughed and said No, that is God's gift. When my younger brother was born, he also rejected meat, just like me; his own was worse cause even fish he wouldn't eat.
My mom would say, Victor, eat your meat and in his childish voice, he would say, "My meat is hanging and hanging, then he would burst out crying as someone beat him. So my mom stopped putting meat and fish in his soup and even rice.I took my time as an adult to observe everybody, and I found out that my mom's siblings and my cousins all have side-gap teeth.
Whenever I laugh, people will always say that they love my side gap teeth; it has become a trait in my family. Another thing I love in my family, I would say, is a trait that either you have a straight leg or a bow leg; it is like telling you when you are coming into the world, choose this day which leg you will get. One thing is certain, neither you are on the straight or the bow.
I think the guys in my family are more on this bow and the ladies are on straight legs.
My father will sometimes joke that God gave us straight legs, yet none of us is interested in modeling; what a waste of straight legs. He will further attack my brothers that with their bow legs and their height, none join a basketball team. My Grandpa will say I used mine to be a boxer, and your father here used his own to be a boxer, too.
He will point at my younger brother, and you will be running from a small fight; my younger brother's strength is in his mouth, a very poisonous one, but he has no single strength to fight.That's my family trait. I love the side gap teeth a lot that I wish my babies would have, too. I don't even mind as everybody in my family has it, I just think it's beautiful and it makes us unique.
