This topic reminds me of a song we usually sang in primary school back then, whenever it was about to rain.
Rain, rain, go away, come again another day, little children want to play. Even in the house, we will sing and dance around. What a joyful memory.

Whenever it's time to go to school, and suddenly it starts raining. Inside my heart, and that of my cousins that were staying with us, we would be so happy, especially on the days we didn't want to go to school, but my father has never disappointed us, as he would find a way to take us to school in that rain.

At times, we would pray that he should travel and then rain should fall cause my mom would ask us to rest or wait until after the rain because she had to leave for her business very early in the morning, other times before we would wake up to prepare for school she is off to her business.

I remember one day when my mom left very early to work and then said that when the rain had subsided, we should find our way to school. We already planned to stay back but unfortunately for us, my mom called the school to find out if we were in school and it turns out that we didn't come to school, and my mom asked, please what time did it stop raining and my teacher say around 7 am, cause the rain started around 5 am. It was land line then that was trending at that time.

So we were supposed to have finished preparing for school and wait for the rain to stop. But no way oo. The kind of punishment we received that day, I won't forget it in a hurry, and we even lied that we went to school not knowing that my mom had been informed of our little game.

I loved raining season as a child, playing football in the rain and running around. There was an incident that made me dislike raining season; it was one holiday period when it was raining; I ran into the rain to play as usual.

After playing in the rain, I entered the house and was shivering like fowl; that's how I fell very sick; while I was recovering, doctor instructions upon instructions followed suit, I was very sad cause my holiday was cut short. It was that incident I found out that I had an allergy.

As I grow up into adulthood, I no longer like raining season that much. Not that I dislike it totally, but those stagnant waters everywhere are always messed up the environment.
If u want to enter the market, you must wear high flip-flop slippers; you are bound to come out with your legs looking like you didn't take your bath before heading to the market.

Whenever ever is rainy season, should I call myself cold-blood? I don't even know. Anywhere I go during that period, I must carry my jacket cause I easily catch a cold and runny nose.
During these same periods, I must be taking or drinking hot water anytime I am eating food or am tasty. I just have a Hate love relationships or likes for raining season

I love it when it rains, and I am in the house; I will just make hot tea or wait for it to subside before I go into the market to get fresh fish for pepper soup and white rice; it helps to chase cold away. But if none is available, I will turn it to movie time.
