I seriously had no idea how I stumbled upon Hive. It could be due to some random searches on Youtube that first got me here.
I first came into Hive in Sep 2021. Barely a quarter of a year-long, but I am already sold on the beauty of Hive. The litmus test for the loyalty of any Hiver is whether one tries to get new people on board. Yes, I did, over seasons celebrations.
2022 is already here, and it's a good time to take stock of what I have learned over the last few months in Hive. The good thing is that I can just go over my posts and pick out things fairly quickly -- my journey is archived!
In this reflection, I shall 7 highlights in my Hive journey thus far. Hopefully, you can find it entertaining too. Links to my earlier posts are also made available, in case you want to read them. I welcome comments and will upvote them!

Hive Citizen
I like the idea that each crypto project could be thought of as a separate country one can reside in to use its service. For example, I see myself as Hive Citizen now and use so many of its services on a daily basis. Of course, I am not a Hive maximalist as I also see the necessity of other chains. I can be a citizen of different blockchains to make my life better, and no one is going to stop me! -
Hive Price
The rise of the Hive price to its all-time high of $3.41 in November 2021 is a nice surprise that signals to me that Hive has the potential to go higher. I am bullish on Hive. We are just starting, and I will continue to DCA into Hive. I have shared some thoughts on DCA through this post and this post.

Punks on Hive NFT
The whole experience of seeing Punks on Hive sales unfolding is very surreal. It is a nice educational experience for me just reading the buzz surrounding the launch and the sale. Of course, I couldn't resist the FOMO and bought three NFTs at 20 Hive apiece, when Hive was hovering around $1. Indeed, unless one actually buys an NFT, one will never know it feels to buy an image file! Good or bad, this is one of the three I got, Zander Patrick - Barber:

Airdrops
Airdrops in Hive have been unreal! Hive being the blogging platform just means that news about airdrop is much more readily available. My favorite airdrop must have been the BXT airdrop. I have also participated in the [PolyCUB] airdrop(). There are more airdrops to come, and 6 Jan seems to be a magical date to watch. -
LEO and Hive ecosystem tokens
Being new to Hive, the availability of HIVE, SWAP-HIVE and the likes of LEO, POB, etc.. confuses me. As a hardworking bee, I just focus on working hard in Hive, and didn't think much about those stuffs, until I understood why I am getting rewarded in HIVE and LEO for posting and curating. This post, which explains this matter, did well, and I am happy about it. More importantly, I am getting more sensitive about the price changes in the other Hive ecosystem tokens. I made a few posts about price actions in BEE, POB, BXT and LEO. I am getting deeper into the Hive ecosystem! -
Writing and Curating
As a good citizen in Hive, of course, I write and curate posts. Suffice to say, I am still trying to feel my way around. When this post was selected to be featured prominently on the Leo Finance front page, I know that is when the game begins. Churning out high-quality posts help to develop the Hive platform, and support is everywhere. This is pretty much a nurturing and abundance-built platform. I am staying, and will continue to write and curate!

Liquidity Pools and Staking Rewards
Being in Hive, at least relatively early enough, meant that there are still new projects which are growing inside this robust blockchain. This gives rise to the chance to earn some fat rewards through liquidity mining and taking. Personally, I have long-term faith in projects like SPS, BXT, DLUX, LEO, to name a few. It does make sense to try to grow these token counts through some sort of defi play and staking, but the time horizon needs to be in years, and one must also be prepared that they will all go bust!
It's already 2022. I am looking forward to a new journey in Hive, and wonder what my 2023 post on 2022 would look like. My new aspiration is that I want to look into more 'hardcore' stuff in Hive, like becoming a witness to contribute to the decentralization of Hive! Hopefully, I will also have some time to stack up more Hive at a lower price, or have a windfall to buy more Hive! If these don't happen soon enough, I appreciate fellow Hivers to give me a helping hand in upvoting, commenting, and teaching me how to be a better Hiver!
