As everyone knows, this year saw one of the most eagerly anticipated events for any soccer fan—and even for those who aren’t such big fans—because every World Cup is a great opportunity to enjoy the game and spend time with family and friends.
This 2026 World Cup was very special for us as a family, thanks to our little soccer player who infected us with his passion for the sport. We have to admit that we weren’t big soccer fans until now, when we became the number-one fans of a little soccer dreamer.
This is the first World Cup my son has enjoyed. During the 2022 World Cup, our son was still very young, but we already sensed he’d love soccer, since he’s loved chasing after a ball ever since he was a baby.
That’s why I wanted to share with you how my son enjoyed the 2026 World Cup—a month full of excitement for him, where everything in his life revolved around soccer, including his school activities.
No matter what school activity my son has to do, if he’s free to choose the theme for decorating his assignment or developing the topic, he’ll choose soccer without a second thought. Here he was happy because he’d included pictures of two of his favorite players for a physical education activity. As you can see, my son was Team Brazil and Team Colombia—though he liked other teams, too.

This cover is from an album we created about emotions, which was the theme of the project they were working on; of course, the World Cup mascots took center stage.

Art has been a constant presence throughout this time, which is why it deserves another post with more details, but over the past few months, my son has spent hours drawing T-shirts, flags, crests, and player cards for all the players.

My dad gave him some money, and he used it to buy himself a Brazil jersey. We found this one that he really liked, and he still wears it all the time because he loves it so much.
Of course, soccer practice didn’t stop this season, and he played in several games—all with the same excitement as always, no matter the result.
We experienced the World Cup this year in a different way—in a genuine way—guided by our son’s excitement. We learned a lot from him, and we’re so happy that he has this love for the sport and that he’s using it to unleash his creativity in various aspects of his life.
I know this post is timeless, but I didn’t want to let this event pass by without mentioning it on my parenting blog and sharing it with you.

Until next time, a million blessings to your families.
