A few days ago, I heard a phrase that stayed with me: there are situations that make us give birth to new fears.

And I immediately thought of myself.

There are fears that were probably always there, but they remained far away, almost invisible. Until a certain situation changes the way we perceive ourselves and, suddenly, what once felt distant begins to feel possible.

In my case, going through a medical diagnosis made me connect with my own vulnerability in a different way. Precautions, questions, and fears appeared that were not there before, or that, at least, I did not look at in the same way.

But while I was thinking about all of this, another question came up, one that feels much more important to me:

At what point does a fear that is trying to protect us begin to limit us?

Because yes, I want to take care of myself. I want to be aware. I want to make responsible decisions. But I also want to keep living, creating, going out, meeting people, making plans, and enjoying everything I still want to experience.

And maybe that is what this reflection I am sharing today is really about: not eliminating our fears or pretending they do not exist, but learning to recognize them without completely handing them the steering wheel.

In the video, I share a little more about these new fears that have appeared in my life and about the questions I am asking myself as I learn how to live with them.

Maybe you have also gone through an experience that changed what you once considered safe.

Has a situation in your life ever brought up fears you did not have before?

And how do you tell the difference between a fear that protects you and one that begins to limit you?

I’ll be reading you.

A big, big hug.
