Namaste everyone,
As the Dashain approaches, everything changes in Nepal. You can see the sky much clearer. Blue skies with full of kites. Even the town or village becomes much cleaner, houses are decorated. Even the air feels much cooler and becomes excitement filled as the major festival in Nepal.

This time Dashain was more than just a tika, new clothes, foods and kites. We managed to meet our generation roots on the same ground.
It brought us closer to our families which made our life meaningful.

You can see the red tika in the picture, it is the mixture of red vermillion powder, rice grain and yogurt. As I was the younger one of the family, I wore on forehead getting the blessing from elder. Tika represent the prosperity, protection and good fortune.

This is a jamara which is yellowish- green in colour. It is grown from seeds of barley 10 days before this tika festival which is known as Ghatasthapana. I wore beside the ear pinna. It denotes property, fertility and a new beginning.
Both the tika and jamara are used in this festival because it is used to worship and symbolizes Goddess Durga for the victory with an evil for good.

Together they are the beautiful expression of love, respect and tradition among the families.
Beside this , I even made a bow tie for my dog. Hope she feels the tradition of love and respect even though she gets everyday. So, I dressed her up with a red velvet bow tie.

Red colour added the touch of elegance and charm. I made her look more adorable so that she can steal the heart of everyone this Dashain.

My cute doggo wearing tika from my parents 🤭
Perhaps the real meaning of Dashain is not just defeating the evil we see in stories, but also overcoming the negativity, anger, jealousy, and selfishness within ourselves.
After all, festival is the time which looks more beautiful when everyone has a reason to smile.
So , happy dashain to everyone who is reading my blog.
