There has been a lot of talk about Tofu, the new Rebellion Legendary summoner, being overpowered. Honestly, I do think Tofu is OP. Being Op is not really the problem imo, but he seems to be OP because of the IMBALANCE compared to other L summoners in the set. He also seems to throw off the balance if we look at all Legendary summoners throughout the game. Maybe it WAS originally balanced on the 'balance spreadsheet', but I suspect just ADDING thorns w/out removing another ability (like snare, which just crushes Risqrel Drath) was a mistake. He's too easy to spam and win when in doubt about a strategy. Maintaining balance is VITAL in a game like Splinterlands.
B L summoners : 5 mana, one splinter, 3 abilities (but lower buffs)
U L summoners: 7 mana, one splinter, 3 abilities (but higher buffs, balances with the added mana imo)
CL L summoners: 6 mana, one splinter, 3 abilities (potential power creep? Or just adding variety to the meta?)
RB L summoners: 7 mana, TWO splinters, two abilities plus TWO tactic abilities added to a few cards. Possibly balanced but it could be argued they are getting stronger with the tactics which are VERY powerful when used properly/strategically.
TOFU: 7 Mana, TWO splinters THREE abilities plus 2x tactics!!!
I'm having trouble understanding why Tofu is not balanced compared to the other RB L summoners, with his extra third ability. I'm trying to figure out logically how/why this happened and it makes little sense to me.
Intentional or an oversight?
Would it be fair to correct this by removing snare?
Do YOU think Tofu is OP? Unbalanced?
Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
