If you follow my posts, you know I don't often dedicate entire posts to games, other than the ones from Splinterlands, which have reached an impressive levels of popularity and growth compared to others games on Hive.
So, why have I decided to write about Holozing, even more, before it was launched?
Image from the Holozing Litepaper.
For a couple of reasons actually.
One of the main ones is that @acidyo is the founder and lead game designer, and watching some of his recordings over time of him playing RPGs (particularly the Diablo series), I know he really understands the genre and will do his best to make an interesting gameplay for the RPG genre lovers. You can actually see his experience as a gamer in the litepaper, for example where the amount of XP the captured monters receive depend on the strength of the monsters they fight. Lots of easy fights, when they level up they receive a little XP, fewer tougher fights, and they'll get a higher amount of XP at level up. That deters farming lower level monsters to level up.
But the entire team is experienced, each in their domain, and that is very important.
I already mentioned the litepaper, which for me was convincing enough. It's true that many projects have (or had) great whitepapers only to never materialize, but hopefully this won't be the case.
And finally, I write about it today, because the token ZING is being launched today with a claimdrop.
Of the claimdrop, benefit HP delegators to the @zingtoken account and holders of POSH tokens on Hive-Engine.
The claimdrop occurs hourly, starting at 19:00 UTC. The snapshot is always one hour before.
Here is the distribution of the ZING tokens:
Method | Daily | Monthly | Yearly |
---|---|---|---|
Hive Power Delegations | 200,000 | 6,000,000 | 73,000,000 |
POSH Holdings | 40,000 | 1,200,000 | 14,600,000 |
Liquidity Provider | 40,000 | 1,200,000 | 14,600,000 |
Zing Staking | 20,000 | 600,000 | 7,300,000 |
If you want to participate, remember to delegate some HP before 7pm UTC today. I'm not sure if you need to register as a player to receive these claimdrops, but to be on the safe side, also log in with Keychain on the (developing) game interface, which is the condition to be registered as a player.
Regarding the game, from the litepaper we find out that it's a PvE (we fight monsters controlled by the game). Those monsters, as well as ours, can be killed, captured, flee or can kill our monsters. Our character is a healer, but as we level up, we might be able to buff our monsters or debuff the enemy monsters.
Monsters have different rarities, and rarities denote how strong a monster is. Acid said that competitive players would want to attempt to capture rarer monsters because every action has a cost, even if it is in the game progression.
There is also a PvP component to the game, where players face each other in the Arena. This way, players will be able to earn ZING.
In the litepaper, player professions are also mentioned, which would be a way for our character to do something passively when we are not using it and make the use of bots less useful.
Something else that was mentioned in the litepaper that I found interesting was that you would be able to focus battles with monsters or other players within a certain period of time. So you don't have to stay glued to the game all day (and night) long hoping or being afraid that you can have a target or you will be targeted. I particularly like this, because that's a detail many non-idle Hive games overlooked over time. We can't be expected to play the game non-stop. In fact, that's a good reason to give up early.
I suggest, if you are interested, to read the litepaper. It's more interesting that I think I made it look it my post here.
