View Count on Posts - One Step Closer to Being Paid Evergreen Rewards
The view count made its appearance earlier this week on the Labs version of INLEO, which is where new features are publicly tested before they are released on the main website. Today I noticed them on the main interface as well.
Also note the "Listen to this post" button next to it, like on PeakD. Same as on PeakD, unfortunately, the bot doesn't break from reading the post when you click on break in Firefox, and doesn't seem to work at all for me in Brave. #feedback
Views have been counted on INLEO/Leofinance in the backend for a good while, as the tracking on older posts shows.
I've been a strong supporter of tracking views we receive on our posts since it's the only way that I know of to measure the external traffic. The only problem we have with that on Hive is that the counted traffic is broken down at the front-end level, and not at the account level. So, if I have x views on INLEO and y views on PeakD for a post, they aren't aggregated as x+y for my account for that post, I'll have to check individual interfaces. And, as far as I know, only PeakD and INLEO even track down the views, which means we know nothing about views on the other Hive front ends.
I checked randomly the views I received for my posts on INLEO during the past 30 days. It looks like I consistently have between 30 and 50 views on my posts from INLEO, with a couple of posts with a low number of views, below 20.
Surprisingly for me, my Hive goals posts are always up there in the number of views. Looks like people are really interested in this type of post. Maybe it matters that it's always a long post and it gets picked up by people who filter posts out by length. In my opinion, this shouldn't be the main criterion, although I write enough long(er) posts.
The number of views grows after a few days, which means at most half of the viewers of my posts usually see them during the initial 24 hours, which is the ideal timeframe for curating on Hive (not Hive-Engine!).
Let's check this post from a week ago. It is Leo-centric, so it isn't surprising it has 40 views on INLEO.
I am curious to see how many views it has on PeakD too, though.
Another 20+ views, since PeakD doesn't say an exact number. I imagine there are some views on Ecency and hive.blog, at least, but they aren't (publicly) tracked.
None of these, except the ones from INLEO, are tracked for the evergreen rewards by INLEO, which makes sense. But, at the same time, you, as a content creator, don't have a complete picture of the unspoken feedback of your readers.
Regarding the same post, since I started dissecting it, I received 25 comments on it, 10 of them my own. That's a good ratio of people commenting from the viewers, but this was one of the posts I got more engagement on than on others. It's also interesting that I didn't receive a disproportionate number of upvotes compared to viewers (maybe even comparable, if we consider those that aren't tracked from other front ends).
We don't know where the threshold for evergreen rewards will be, but I checked a few other authors and I saw I'm doing quite well. I do intend to increase my reach though.
One of the features I am waiting for from INLEO Premium is the AI-generated thread storms for our posts, because right now I don't share my posts on Threads, and I believe that would be a way to increase engagement both directly on my posts and on the thread storms. I also hope this will be optional, not automated, because I want to have the option of when to create a thread storm and when not. And I haven't seen it after launch and before it was taken down... will we be able to change/tweak the threads created by the AI before they are published as a thread storm? #feedback
LEO Power-Up Day
I almost forgot about LPUD. I remembered this Monday and made sure I kept enough LEO liquid to be able to participate in the LPUD fully, but I only staked the minimum 150 LEO this time. There are still a couple of weeks to the year-end and with the ratio between HIVE and LEO dropping recently, fewer leo.voter daily rewards put pressure again on my LEO goal.
So, here it is, 150 LEO powered up to reach 21,300 LP currently. 1,200 LP remaining...
Want to check out my collection of posts?
It's a good way to pick what interests you.
