I already posted twice about INLEO this week. But I guess we can squeeze one more in.
I don't think I'd be mistaken to say everyone on Hive has a favorite front end they use more frequently or even exclusively. I wonder if there is anyone on Hive who jumps from one interface to another without any bias and rotates them like socks. I doubt it!
I, for example, use most often PeakD and INLEO. But yesterday PeakD had some downtime and I also used Ecency. While I am not using an interface exclusively, I do have my favorites, which I use most of the time.
I believe most people are aware INLEO introduced LeoAds rewards for:
- LEO stakeholders
- Evergreen Content
This post is not for regular INLEO front end users, but for users of other interfaces who also write content specific to the Leofinance community and tag it in consequence.
The LeoAds rewards are NOT linked to the Leofinance community, they are however linked to the INLEO front end.
Since the ad revenue is made on INLEO, it makes perfect sense for it to be distributed to its users, and not to users of other front ends.
So, this means that using the "leo" or "leofinance" tags from a different front end will make your content eligible for LEO rewards from the reward pool, but it won't make it eligible for the LeoAds rewards. Or is it so?
There are two questions here that might arise.
Ok, the post isn't from INLEO, but what happens if it receives more than the limit of views on INLEO to pass as "evergreen"? Should it be paid evergreen rewards or not?
I don't know if the answer is a clear no right now for non-INLEO content (edit: Khal answered on Threads, the answer is a clear no), but let's analyze the alternatives.
Yes, non-INLEO content doesn't help build the ranking and authority of inleo.io with search engines, but it brings views that translate into ad revenue. Is it a strong enough argument to be paid evergreen rewards or do the reward pool rewards suffice?
It's hard to say, it depends on how much emphasis is put on building up inleo.io domain compared to LeoAds revenue. If the focus is on more LeoAds revenue, maybe the answer should be to pay evergreen rewards in this case too. If, however, organic traffic from search engines is targeted to bring ad revenue as well, then maybe the best answer is no.
The second situation I see here.
One can be a LEO stakeholder but not active on INLEO. Should he or she benefit of LeoAds rewards? Khal said one needs to vote at least once a week to get a share of the revenue. But how are the votes counted? All votes from all front ends matter or only what is broadcast from INLEO?
To me, this should be a simpler answer. Only votes from INLEO should count. Why? For the LeoAds revenue, it doesn't matter if someone votes from another front end or automatically. If they use INLEO, that means ad views and potentially ad clicks that generate ad revenue.
What would be important to have in this case are some notifications to not forget to cast some votes on INLEO for those not used to voting often via INLEO.
I also asked these questions in Threads, to see what others think. I'm sure most INLEO users would like to keep ad revenue for users of the platform only, which would make sense. In the first case that I described up there, I may see a special case, but I believe either way would be the correct decision there too.
Khal answered the second one, and his answer made sense. Here it is:
The first one probably has an implied answer: only votes from INLEO.
So, in conclusion. Do you want LeoAds rewards? You need to be active on INLEO. No exceptions. That doesn't mean you can't use other front ends, obviously.
For the LeoAds rewards for LEO stakeholders. the minimum condition is that you need to vote at least once per week using INLEO.
For the evergreen rewards, your posts need to be published on INLEO and need to have a minimum threshold of views (yet unspecified) on INLEO every 30 days.
