I included in the 'Dapps' section of yesterday's Hive weekly news roundup a series of updates Inleo has either released or is about to roll out from the test environment to the production website.

I haven't used any of them yet, and I thought it was a good moment to test all of them.

So, let's go through them, one by one.

1. Polls on Long-Form Content

This might be possible from two weeks ago when Khal announced in Threads Polls v2, but I only recently noticed people using them for long-form content and I saw the option added to the interface.

Let's try an "evergreen poll", as Task likes them. I am far from a car connoisseur, but I guess if I had made a poll about your favorite programming language, only devs (or former devs) would have been interested.

So, what is your favorite brand of fast car?

It looks like there was no room for Lambos in this poll. 😄

There we go, it appears in the preview it looks just fine. We will see if it works fine once I publish the post.

I'm curious how this looks on other interfaces... Would the options be visible even if there isn't a way to vote on the poll or to see results (that would be normal), or is it just an empty space?

I would still like a poll variant that is accepted throughout the entire Hive ecosystem, instead of every dapp with its own thing.

2. Dashboard - Fully Functional

This is currently not working in either the testing environment or production. Khal said two days ago on his Threads feed it's due to LeoNode resyncing.

3. Right-click Menus for Posts

The next added feature I mentioned is this contextual menu for posts, something I (and I've seen others too) was interested in. My interest was in the "Open in New Tab" option.

When I checked out the production interface, I was disappointed to find out it was not there. I thought that, again, the menu was added to something else I wasn't interested in.

Then, I thought, let's take a look at Labs too. And it is available there, which is fine. That means it will find its way to production sooner rather than later.

Now the other issue I have... I was going to use the "open in new tab" option to curate more posts from Inleo. But there's something else missing, which was initially added, and then taken out, probably due to various bugs on different setups. What is necessary is the vote slider, to be able to define the vote weight. We can't just use two vote weights, one for comments and one for posts. And the higher the HP/LP, the bigger the problem. #feedback

4. Pasting Excel Tables as Markdown

This is a useful feature for people who work with tables often and write about them on Hive.

This is a binary option or flag. It can be on or off. When it is on, it looks like this:

Click on it without fear, nothing happens. It only changes the way the object in the clipboard is being interpreted and pasted on the front end.

To test it, just turn it on, and copy some (part of a) table. It says Excel, but I copied it from Google Sheets and it works. I suppose the idea is that the copied object should be organized in rows and columns, like a table.

I copied part of the table I added to my weekly Hive goals post. Here's the result, after pasting:

Conclusion

It's great to see new features and tools added to Inleo and others improved. They've been working on various things, and I believe feedback is necessary for them to realize when something is broken, incomplete, or can be improved on. We know they take feedback seriously, and Khal often asks for it.
