Let's see what we have for this week's roundup.
Week on Hive
Value Plan at Half Year. Some Examples.
Value Plan is the DHF funded project through which many offline events and projects are being funded by Hive. They put out their half-year review before asking for the proposal to be refreshed.
In the second part of the review, you can see some YTD analytics with breakdowns to continent and country level. You can also meet some of the Hivians from projects which received funding in brief introductions they provided.
And in the end, Value Plan is asking for help in identifying more ways to measure specific KPIs for different types of exposure, and if you have knowledge and experience in this area, you should contact them and help out if you can.
Before I move over to the next topic, let's see some events supported by Value Plan that had some news this week.
I already talked about the Web3 and Blockchain Conference from the Ghana University this week , so I'm not going to cover it again in extenso.
Another talk to students, this time from Barquisimeto, Venezuala, happened this week. Actually at the end of last week. Unlike students from Ghana, who were in majority studying computer science, at the university from Barquisimeto they were training musicians and artists, another category of people who do quite well in our ecosystem if they stick to it.
From the post, we learn that the testimonies of two former students at the same university they were presenting at and long-time Hivians (@yetsimar and @irenenavarroart) "really woke up the audience to the reality of what we were saying".
The CTT podcast needs a section of its own, but this episode is very relevant to this topic too, with information shared by @starkerz and @mcsamm - one of the organizers of the conference in Ghana also present. Overall, a very good episode, including the talk with the guy from Peerplays.
And finally, something I think I learned from starkerz during CTT, there is a website for the rally project Hive supports, and that is: Hiverally.com. It seems basically a standard community with a relevant domain name reserved. What I'd like to see here is the last few posts covering the Hive rally car events pinned.
SPK Network Proof of Access Party
Proof of Access is ready to be tested! This is the technical overview, but for people who want to be involved in testing it, there is a call to action and a step-by-step video on what to do. The party is on discord, at 8pm UTC, today (Sunday).
Leofinance Keeps Forging Its Interface
Leofinance often has several updates per week which are unannounced, but this week they put together a post with 14 of their major updates from a recent release.
The team also promises to continue building on the communities part of the website from its rough general form, integrating Threads to them and trying to appeal to Reddit communities looking for a new home.
3Speak Mobile Apps [have been updated once again too.
Blocktrades Ending Crypto Trading
Reason: losing money, hard times for small exchanges and he doesn't like this exchange business. He prefers focusing on developing software. Here is his announcement.
WOO Crate Sale Event 1-31 July
I missed the boat on WOO, thinking it's not a game I'd enjoy. In the end, it's hard to predict from the start which games are going to succeed and which are not. Seems like WOO is one of the popular ones. And it has a WOO crate sale event in July.
Golem Overlord Updates
GO pushed a number of posts about its current and future developments. Of them, I selected three (which I didn't announce last week too):
Legion Updates
Raymond put out a post with updates for the Legion project. Check it out.
SplinterForge Announcing Cool Developments
Splinterforge will have a hero system and an Electrum Mine Run game mode, which are in the testing phase now.
BIG changes Serdom and Sorcery
From now on, S&S requires staked DBLN to be able to withdraw. Details in their update.
dCity Updates
dCity introduced or will add a series of updates announced in a recent post.
Week in the Crypto World
Coinbase's L2 Base Network Is Getting Closer to Mainnet
Base is an L2 to Ethereum and is a protocol for developing apps. Of course, Hive has the ability to develop apps that run at L1 very cheaply and benefit from the L1 security. But I haven't researched the topic too deeply. so there may be elements I am missing other than the names of Coinbase and Ethereum.
KuCoin to Add Mandatory KYC
I don't think this comes as a surprise, since probably all centralized exchanges that will want to operate legally in many jurisdictions will need to do this.
Binance Reverses Decision to Delist Privacy Coins in Europe
I admit I didn't understand the reasoning for either decision, to delist or to reverse the decision after reading the article, but, for now, the outcome is good.
