This is probably the weirdest manga that I've read in a while. That was a ChatGPT recommendation, and I decided to try it, asking for something with psychological horror and themes. The art looks like cute, chibi-like humanoids that could be mistaken for a children's product, but in the end, it's not so much. I had some problems with volume 1: too much information about this world, which is different from our reality, and the reading is difficult. Too many word balloons with a small font size! Not sure if the Japanese version is better than that. But here are my thoughts

First colored page has a great art.

One thing that I can't complain about is the art and creativity of using Chibi-like humans. The story tells a story about this weird society focused on digging through an abyss in search of relics. They are divided into different categories of diggers organized by whistlers' colours, and children are also diggers. White whistles are the epic diggers; the missing mother of the protagonist, Riko, is one of the white whistles. Riko and other kids are training diggers categorized as red whistlers. You see that the manga is a bit weird because Riko is known to create problems, and one time she was hanged naked as a punishment (WTF! That was weird for sure).

You can see that the manga isn't for kids because it has violence, such as monsters trying to eat the kids and others, through their digging experiences. In one attack by a monster, Riko is saved by a powerful attack against the monster. After this attack, she meetsa human-likee robot that passed out. She brings this robot and reactivates it; it totally lost all memory, including its name. Riko and the other kids name it Reg.

The monster gets a hole in his head after the surprise attack by an unknown source that might be Reg.

Reg gets recruited by the diggers, and the volume ends with Riko and Reg going underground by themselves to start their journey to the deepest place in the abyss in search of Riko's mom. The manga is a bit slow because of the large number of word balloons with small fonts that make the reading difficult. I am curious to see how the story develops, so I will try the second volume; hopefully it is easier to read.

An example with tons of word balloons; there are worse pages than that for sure. Remember that focusing with my phone camera gives a better perspective.
