I am more grateful every day to be part of Hive and to contribute to its growth. When I joined I felt like I had moved to the other side of the world. I threw myself into discovering new possibilities, with the main intent of finding a new audience for my music. I immediately started exploring the communities and following the ones I thought I could contribute to. By starting to post and interact I found the path that best suits me on this platform and I stuck to some activities while I abandoned others. Here are the four activities that I mainly do and that bring me the most satisfaction.
1. Participate in the Vibes competition
Vibes is a music community created specifically for musicians, singers and producers to post videos of their performances and participate in the periodic competition. We have reached round number 27 - each round lasts about two weeks - and the prizes are very juicy. Hundreds of users participate. The Vibes admins select a top 10 and open the voting to the public. The public vote has a weight of 1/3 in deciding the winners, the other 2/3 are given by the admin jury. The first 6 classified receive prizes in HBD, with a whopping 450 HBD in reserve for the first, decreasing to 100 from the fourth classified onwards.
I have participated 6 times so far, I think I have reached the top ten 3 or 4 times and once I won the fourth prize of 100 HBD. Even if I almost never win (and I don't want to expose myself by saying my opinions on why...) for me it is still a great victory to participate, given the huge payouts that I manage to collect with my posts. There are some whales that seem to particularly appreciate my videos for Vibes eheh
So Vibes is giving me a lot of satisfaction and also helps me create content for my other social networks and it is the best way I have to attract other musicians to Hive, so it is definitely the number one activity that I prefer to do here.
2. Writing for #untobisunto
I don't want to be a sycophant, eh! It's just that the Olio di Balena community is like the home you return to after exploring various feeds and communities ❤️
It took me a while to decide to write posts on OdB because I thought it would take me away from my goal of finding and consolidating an audience of new fans, especially if I made personal posts that have nothing to do with my music.
But I was very wrong.
Having a weekly theme that allows me to expose myself behind the character was exactly what I was missing to establish a more human and friendly relationship with those who follow me. Making bilingual posts allows me to connect even with those who are not part of OdB but follow me personally.
And after a couple of months of doing it, I have created connections here on Hive that I have not been able to establish on other social networks in over a year of activity!
I would love to be able to pass this enthusiasm on to those out there to help them enter this new world...
3. To play Rising Star
it's really hard to get to level 75 to unlock the band audition!
True, I don't talk about it often, but I'm a Rising Star player. It was one of the first things I tried, precisely because as a musician I couldn't do otherwise.
For those who don't know it, Rising Star is an earn to play based on the musical career of a musician who must go from playing illegally on the streets to doing headliner tours with his band.
The game is based on collecting cards that have fans and skills attributes, carrying out activities that get you Starbits (the in-game currency) and leveling up, thus unlocking new activities. The game is constantly evolving and has constant new features that I won't list here.
One of the reasons that pushed me to play is also the possibility of minting your own music as collectible NFTs within the game. And in fact you can find my Remember Who You Are as a collectible song, both purchasable in Starbits and in SwapHive.

4. Support the most deserving creators
Finally, my last favorite activity on Hive is to support with my vote and comments the profiles that attract my attention. As I already mentioned in the post about good intentions, I would like to become a strong curator to promote alternative music on Hive.
I'm not the type to like everything randomly, I don't even do it on Instagram. And here on Hive this aspect of me is even more accentuated. I'm not very generous with upvotes. Not because I don't want to give them, it's just that I only vote for posts that really stimulate my interest. And I'm sorry that there are still so few of them. I would like to see many more creators who are in line with my interests, I feel a bit like an oddball here 😅
But never mind, they'll come, as soon as they understand how satisfying it is to share their art on Hive.

Sono ogni giorno più grato di far parte di Hive e di contribuire alla sua crescita. Quando sono entrato mi sono sentito come se mi fossi trasferito dall'altra parte del mondo. Mi sono buttato alla scoperta di nuove possibilità, con l'intento principale di trovare nuovo pubblico per la mia musica. Ho cominciato subito esplorando le community e seguendo quelle in cui pensavo avrei potuto dare un contributo. Cominciando a postare e ad interagire ho trovato il percorso che più fa al caso mio in questa piattaforma e mi sono attenuto ad alcune attività mentre ne ho abbandonate altre. Ecco le quattro attività che svolgo principalmente e che mi portano più soddisfazione.
1. Partecipare al contest di Vibes
Vibes è una community musicale creata appositamente per musicisti, cantanti e produttori per postare video delle loro esibizioni e partecipare alla competizione periodica. Siamo giunti al round numero 27 - ogni round dura all'incirca due settimane - e i premi in palio sono molto succosi. Vi partecipano centinaia di utenti. Gli admin di Vibes selezionano una top 10 e aprono le votazioni al pubblico. Il voto del pubblico ha un peso di 1/3 nella decisione dei vincitori, gli altri 2/3 sono dati dalla giuria degli admin. Ricevono premi in HBD i primi 6 classificati, con ben 450 HBD in serbo per il primo, scendendo a 100 dal quarto classificato in poi.
Io finora ho partecipato 6 volte, sono arrivato in top ten mi sembra 3 o 4 volte e una volta ho vinto il quarto premio di 100 HBD. Anche se non vinco quasi mai (e non voglio espormi dicendo le mie opinioni del perché...) per me è comunque una grande vittoria partecipare, visti gli immensi payout che riesco a raccogliere con i miei post. C'è qualche balena che sembra apprezzare particolarmente i miei video per Vibes eheh
Quindi Vibes mi sta dando molta soddisfazione e in più contribuisce a farmi creare contenuti per gli altri miei social ed è il modo migliore che ho per attirare altri musicisti verso Hive, perciò rappresenta decisamente l'attività numero uno che preferisco svolgere qui.
2. Scrivere per #untobisunto
Non voglio fare il ruffiano eh! Solo che la community di Olio di Balena è come la casa a cui fare ritorno dopo aver esplorato feed e community varie ❤️
Ci ho messo un po' a decidermi di scrivere post su OdB perché pensavo che mi avrebbe allontanato dal mio obiettivo di trovare e consolidare un pubblico di nuovi fan, soprattutto se avessi fatto post personali che non c'entrano niente con la mia musica.
Ma mi sbagliavo di grosso.
Avere un tema settimanale che mi permette di esporre la mia persona dietro il personaggio è stato proprio quello che mi mancava per stabilire una relazione più umana e amichevole con chi mi segue. Fare post bilingue mi permette di connettermi anche con chi non fa parte di OdB ma mi segue personalmente.
E dopo un paio di mesi che lo faccio ho creato qui su Hive delle connessioni che sugli altri social non sono riuscito a stabilire in più di un anno di attività!
Vorrei tanto riuscire a passare questo entusiasmo a chi è là fuori per farli entrare in questo nuovo mondo...
3. Giocare a Rising Star
è davvero difficile arrivare al livello 75 per sbloccare la band audition!
Vero, non ne parlo spesso, però sono un giocatore di Rising Star. E' stata una delle prime cose in cui mi sono cimentato, proprio perché da musicista non potevo fare altrimenti.
Per chi non lo conosce, Rising Star è un earn to play basato sulla carriera musicale di un musicista che deve passare dal suonare illegalmente per strada a fare tour da headliner con la sua band.
Il gioco si basa su collezionare carte che presentano attributi di fans e skills, svolgere attività che ti procurano Starbits (la moneta in game) e salire di livello, sbloccando così nuove attività. Il gioco è in continua evoluzione e presenta costanti novità che non starò qui a elencare.
Uno dei motivi che mi avevo spinto a giocare è anche la possibilità di mintare la propria musica come NFT collezionabili all'interno del gioco. E infatti puoi trovare la mia Remember Who You Are come canzone collezionabile, sia acquistabile in Starbits che in SwapHive.

4. Supportare i creator più meritevoli
Infine l'ultima mia attività preferita su Hive è supportare col mio voto e con i commenti i profili che attirano la mia attenzione. Come già avevo menzionato nel post sui buoni propositi, mi piacerebbe diventare un curator forte per promuovere la musica alternativa su Hive.
Io non sono il tipo che mette mi piace a tutto a caso, neanche su Instagram lo faccio. E qui su Hive questo aspetto di me è ancora più accentuato. Non sono molto prodigo di upvotes. Non perché non li voglia dare, è che voto solo i post che stimolano davvero il mio interesse. E mi dispiace che siano ancora così pochi. Vorrei vedere molti più creator che siano in linea con i miei interessi, mi sento un po' una mosca bianca qui 😅
Ma pazienza, arriveranno, appena capiranno quanto è soddisfacente condividere la propria arte su Hive.
