HI guys, it's another edition of the #hivenaija weekly prompt where we have to describe what it would feel like to be able to communicate with a particular kind of animal. After cracking my brain so hard I decided to choose one animal... Stay tuned.
Communication is a means by which we interact with people either verbally or non verbally. It is a necessary means to pass on information about anything in particular to the other party involved in the discussion. Without this we would just be dormant, not able to communicate either by speaking, writing, sign or whatever. It would be a great idea to be able to communicate with animals, at least instead of using sounds to communicate, they would actually understand English or whatever language the community speaks.
Different animals possess different traits, some are orderly but dangerous, some are stuck born, some are talkatives like the parrot, some are messy like fowls who poo everywhere, rats that are destuctive. I believe if humans can learn to communicate with these animals maybe they would learn to do things differently (sounds ridiculous). If I can communicate with rats I would love to know why their major targets is destroying people's certificates and wasting foodstuffs in the house.
So, if would want to speak and understand the language of a particular animal, I would want to go for a domestic animal that can also be useful to me and it would be a monkey. I actually gave this a long thought though. I choose monkeys because I don't think it would be difficult understanding them and relating with them. I mean they behave almost like humans but what is remaining is just the ability to communicate properly with sounds. One time we went to the zoo, you would see that portray several human characteristics like being shy, mourning the death of a child, menstruation, hand gestures and so many more traits.
Monkeys are very proactive, they are fast and quite intelligent for their specie. I believe this is why some people keep them as pets as they can be quite entertaining when playing around. Imagine communicating with a monkey, they would be a great companion to you and even help around by doing chores. I am sure they have a lot to say that would be beneficial to mankind. Even without speaking now, they can make requests, they can peel of banana and eat, they can request for water from humans. I am talking from experience.
Also, you can communicate with monkeys to run errands. They can pick up items, they can do some basic stuff, and so on.
In conclusion, not like the monkey is my favorite kind of animal because I heard that they can be destructive and dangerous to their owners who keeps them as pet after a while. But for the fact, communicating with them might seem easy because they carry out basic things that humans do already.
