My first reaction after reading the topic for this week was “as how?”, lol. As a form of introduction, this is the last topic for this week in the hivelearners community and we are asked to talk about THE PERFECT BABY. Without further ado, let’s dive into what I have to say about this topic. I’m actually wondering why an imperfect being will want to produce something perfect, like it doesn’t work that way. To produce something perfect, it needs you to be perfect or at least working on yourself to be perfect and when it comes to children, that’s what God has given to parents but sadly they don’t even recognize that fact.

Most parents wish their children were more obedient, beautiful, handsome, tall, intelligent and the likes. They see other children out there and start wishing theirs would be that way. That’s sad because those parents had their chance to choose all of those things but they made their choices and now they wish they can turn back the hands of time. This topic just made me think about something that I will like to share with us and that is the reason behind having children. Why do we think God gives humans children? Is it so we can just be among the numbers of people that can bear children or so we can be happy in our marriages or what?

I’ll like you to ponder on that while I share my thoughts on it. For me, I’ll like to think that there are numerous reasons why God blesses people with the gift of children and one of them is for those parents to become better people. Yes, having a child, for someone who understands life, will know that the coming of that child is constraining. You can no longer do things the way you like them or how you’ve always known it is done. Now you are more concerned or should I day, you will be more concerned about doing things the right way because just in case you don’t know, you just earned a fan and that’s your child. Need me remind you what true fans are? They are like your reflection.

They always do or try to do the things they see you do. They always want to follow your lead and that’s basically what your child does too. So if as a parent you want a perfect baby, the first question you should ask yourself is that, what am I doing to become a perfect person? If you’re yet to answer that question, then you are not ready to have a perfect baby. Having a baby, I’ll say is an open cheque from God to every parent to become better people and not the other way around. The easiest way to make people do things the way you want it to be done is by taking the lead and not leading from behind.

If you know your children lacks some traits, character or ability, look inward and you will see just how well you have at some point made the child become that even without you knowing it. It might not be from only one parent, it might be from your partner, hence this is a call to parenthood. Having a perfect child is only possible when as parents you have accepted that you are fully responsible for whatever your child becomes. I see so many parents trying to deny their children when they don’t do well but are proud when they do well. A perfect baby is what you have brought into the world but along the line, you started thinking differently because you didn’t put in the work as you should.

So rather than wanting to have a perfect baby, it is more like becoming perfect because if God still gives you a perfect baby, your mode of training up that child in the way he or she should go will still end up become what will determine if that baby is perfect or not. But besides all of that, there is no one who is perfect but that doesn’t stop us from walking toward perfection and as parents, you can help your child become perfect by being perfect yourself. Like I said earlier, these children are a reflection of you no matter how faded that part of you seem, your children still pick up those things and learn from them.

The truth is, no one can make a perfect baby by removing one thing or another. You can only do that through intentional training. And besides, you don’t want to give birth to robots as babies do you? I don’t think so. Even God knows we as humans are not perfect but with constant development and learning, we will get better. And that also goes to your children too. The more you train them the way you want them to go and also leading by example, the better those children draw closer to being perfect, at least by your own standards.

Thanks for reading through. ❤️
