Sorry Tofu But Immortalis Is Still King
Hey hey hey!
I guess this will be a bit controversial since a lot of people are saying that Eternal Tofu is the most OP summoner out there. Oh well, I beg to disagree. I may not be an expert on battles, but I can tell that Eternal Tofu has its own niche while Immortalis is more versatile. Here's a side by side comparison between the two and a sample a battle at the end.

As you seen above, it is true that Eternal Tofu has more features than Immortalis. Eternal Tofu has the Summoner Tactics which Immortalis (as well as all CL summoners) doesn't have. Not to mention, Tofu has that awesome granting ability Thorns. That's why it is called the Mylor Killer. Immortalis, on the other hand, has only Void Magic and Shatter. But these exact abilities is what makes Immortalis more versatile than Tofu. Let's dive in.
Card Usage
As said earlier, Eternal Tofu has its own niche. Tofu is great with Up Close and Personal ruleset because of Thorns. It is usable in Earthquake ruleset because of the Snare granting ability and Scavenge-Triage tactic. It can be used generally on most rulesets but with 7 mana, it limits the monsters you can use with it. Personally, I can spam Tofu in ranked battles but with its complexity, I guess I'm better off with simple summoners. Yes it is a great card, but as Summoner Tactics aren't that compatible with Brawls, I could just use Immortalis.
Immortalis has a variety of usage and ruleset implementations. It can be used on Standard Rules with just the Mycelic Slipspawn sustain deck. This is accomplished by using Mycelic Slipspawn at the back and use Triage monsters like Queen Mycelia, Spirit Hoarder and/or Uloth Dhampir. This same deck is viable in Wands Out and Keep Your Distance. At the front line, Mycelic Infantry plays an important role. Its Giant Killer and Shield abilities are essential to keep the team protected at the front. Immortalis can also be used in Up Close and Personal ruleset with it.
Sample Battle
Here is the sample about between the two Earth Summoners:
In this battle, I made us of the Mycelic Slipspawn back sustain deck. Granted that my opponent used lower level Summoner, but it is still a good line up. I guess he anticipates me using some Sneaks that's why a Terraceous Grunt is at the back. Then again he used Mycelic Slipspawn too but placed it in the middle. Ok fine, I take it back. It is such a bad lineup after all. My Goblin Tower plays a vital role here as it blasts Slipspawn along with its adjacent monsters.
Closing
Well that's it for me I guess. I could go on and on stating my immortal love for Immortalis and eternal hate for Tofu (see what I did there?). Do you agree with this post? Comment down your insight on Eternal Tofu and Immortalis. Thank you for supporting and reading my post. More wins to you!
