Among the Flowers in the Garden of the Coquettes - Colonia Tovar [Esp-Eng]

On my tour of Colonia Tovar in a 4x4. We visited several places, one of which was the beautiful Jardín de las Coquetas. I have to admit that I’d never heard of this place, not even on social media, even though I’m always seeing videos about things to do in Colonia Tovar. Honestly, we chose this spot because the package included several locations and we didn’t know which ones to pick, but I’m so glad we did.

From the center of Colonia Tovar, we could see the reddish hue on the mountainside caused by the coquetas flowers. From there, our guide told us that this was the place we’d be visiting, and it was actually quite high up. It was one of the last places we went to, and it took us quite a while to get there, but when we finally arrived, it was a truly unique experience.

En mi recorrido por la Colonia Tovar en un carro 4x4. Visitamos varios lugares, uno de ellos es el bonito Jardín de las Coquetas. Debo admitir que no conocía este sitio ni siquiera en redes sociales, a pesar de que siempre me aparecen videos de planes que hacer en la Colonia Tovar. Honestamente, elegimos este lugar porque el paquete incluía varios sitios y ya no sabíamos cuáles escoger, pero qué bueno que lo hicimos.

​Desde la parte central de la Colonia Tovar podíamos ver en la montaña el tono rojo con el que se pintaba debido a las flores coquetas. Desde ahí, nuestro guía nos indicó que ese sería el lugar que visitaríamos y la verdad estaba bastante alto. Fue uno de los últimos sitios a los que fuimos y nos tomó bastante tiempo llegar ahí, pero cuando finalmente estuvimos allí fue una experiencia bastante única.

Brightly colored flowers always make places look amazing. Well, suffice it to say that this garden was visible from far away because it was so colorful. There were red flowers, but also several shades of fuchsia that painted that entire section of the mountain, where there was a spectacular overlook from which you could see all of Colonia Tovar. Because it was so high up and since it was noon when we went—most people were having lunch—there was no one there when we arrived.

I feel that, because it was empty, we were able to enjoy the view there much more. The flowers made you feel like you were in a kind of paradise—wherever you looked, there was so much color, and it felt like a joyful and very lively place. Obviously, with such a spectacular view, my friends and I took several photos. There was a large swing where, if you took the photo from below, you could see the entire slope covered in flowers, but if you took it from the front, you could see the entire background—the landscape of Colonia Tovar and the mountain.

​Las flores con colores vivos siempre hacen que los lugares se vean increíbles. Bueno, con decirles que este jardín se veía desde lejos por lo colorido que estaba. Había flores rojas, pero también varias fucsias que pintaban toda esa parte de la montaña, en la que había un mirador espectacular desde el que podías ver toda la Colonia Tovar. Por estar tan alto y debido a que en el momento en el que fuimos era hora de mediodía, la mayoría de las personas estaba almorzando, así que cuando llegamos no había nadie allí.

​Siento que, debido a que estaba vacío, pudimos disfrutar mucho más de la vista en este lugar. Las flores hacían que te sintieras en una especie de paraíso donde fuera que miraras había mucho color, y se sentía un espacio alegre y muy vivo. Obviamente, al estar ahí con esta vista tan espectacular, nos tomamos varias fotos mis amigos y yo. Había un gran columpio en el que, si tomabas la foto desde abajo, podías apreciar toda la pendiente de flores que había, pero si lo tomabas de frente entonces se veía todo el fondo que era el paisaje de la Colonia Tovar y la montaña.

It was really nice for me to visit this place. To be honest, I was very happy because I personally love nature and really enjoy spending time in it. However, when nature features plants, flowers, or something I’d never seen before in my life, the experience feels even better. Although the other activities we did at the camp were quite fun and we had great views of the scenery and everything else, my favorites were the ones that involved being in the mountains and taking in nature in all its splendor.

​Without a doubt, I really enjoyed getting to know this place, and I’ll never forget the wonderful experience of seeing it for the first time. Being there made me truly appreciate nature, creation, and above all, the One who made all these things possible. Having beautiful experiences where everything you see around you is so natural and lovely reminds you that no one will ever be able to match the beauty, the scent, and the feeling you get from being close to creation.

​Fue bastante bonito para mí conocer este lugar. La verdad es que me sentía muy contenta porque en lo personal me encanta la naturaleza y disfruto mucho de pasar tiempo en ella. Sin embargo, cuando la naturaleza tiene plantas, flores o algo que nunca en mi vida había visto, la experiencia se siente aún mejor. Si bien las otras actividades que hicimos en la colonia estuvieron bastante divertidas y tuvimos muy buenas vistas del paisaje y demás, mis favoritas fueron las que tuvieron que ver con estar en la montaña mirando la naturaleza en todo su esplendor.

​Sin duda, me gustó mucho conocer este sitio y no voy a olvidar nunca la bonita experiencia que fue verlo por primera vez. Estar ahí me hizo apreciar muchísimo la naturaleza, la creación y sobre todo a quien hizo posible todas estas cosas. Vivir experiencias bonitas en las que todo lo que ves a tu alrededor es tan natural y hermoso te hace recordar que nunca nadie podrá igualar la belleza, el aroma y la sensación que te da estar cerca de la creación.
