The game is getting tougher but I do agree that it isn't that hard to build up some cards to use up on your own. Personally, I think renting out some cards and earning in the higher leagues for a few seasons would net them enough summoners to compete. They would probably still need other cards but I think it's at an easier point to get started playing the game. The cards will unlock eventually too.
