HELLO HIVE
Food takes a role as one of the greatest pleasures of life no matter how we try to put it, but when it comes to the kinds of food that I like whether it is sweet or savory flavored meals then I have to lean towards one end, and the reason I am leaning towards this end is mostly because that's the way I was brought up as a child and that way of life has found a way to stick with me till I grew up.
I often wonder why I crave certain meals more than I crave others and how this taste preference affects what I eat daily.
My natural inclination
Growing up, candy was only on special occasions especially when we had a family reunion or a family friend decided to give the kids some money to get candy, then you would find it lurking around the candy shop but other than that it takes a big miracle to get money for candy from my parents who viewed it as a way to waste money that would get something for the kitchen to better the taste of what we were eating.

Coke and juice were for birthdays that were once a year And then the most amount of birthdays for that year would probably be the number of kids at home and then friends birthdays if we had the chance or the permission to go, so eating sweet things was really rear occurrence even snacks are not common either so the amount of sweet things we take is very minimal.
Because of this inclination and my taste preference, my meals are built differently from someone with a sweet tooth. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are more inclined around salty dishes like jello rice and porridge beans and different swallows like pounded yam, semolina, and cornmeal swallow.
Even at breakfast fast when you would have something sweet to start the day it is rice on most occasions because we would take some to school when we are off to school and the idea of giving kids money for candy to school isn't my dad's thing either 🤣🤣
We hardly think about dessert when making dinner; instead, we make straight meals, and that's all.
Despite my savory bias, I recognize the value of a little sweetness in life, a sweet treat once in a while will provide a nice contrast and a good feeling of completion.
My mom strongly believed that sweet food isn't good for our health and she would do anything to discourage us from it, I think we were healthier when she was alive because we had some of the healthier foods to eat like fresh pumpkin leaves and ever-present part of our dish and we also had other fresh vegetables as well as milk from both plants and animal source.
