After last night's podcast on the Crypto Maniacs I was inspired like I've never been before!
It's hard to put into words exactly how I felt, so I decided there is no better way to do so then...Putting my thoughts on chain ;)
If you didn't get a chance to check out the show, make sure you take a listen as it'll help you get the context in which my excitement comes from. You see I have a dream personally on chain...
And if you have followed my journey for any amount of time, you'll know it. I want to 'make a living' from my efforts and investments here on Hive. And if you have spent any amount of time on Hive, you'll know it comes from various different ways on chain.
Creating, curating, investing, delegating, commenting, playing games....Heck, even losing weight and tracking it all with @actifit lol I means, seriously, Hive truly is a remarkable ecosystem and blockchain community.
But then last night happened...
And @tsunsica shared with us her journey on chain and what Hive means to countries like hers, Venezuela. With a few upvotes here and there, and a steady game plan to add value to the blockchain, a resident of that country could essentially make a full time income here.
This blew my mind and it gave me a new way to look at my own efforts on chain. Now look, I'm no whale...Heck, I'm not even back to 100,000 Hive Power, but my full upvote at current prices is worth around 50 cents. That is actually worth something to people around the world!
For us in the first world, we may whine and complain about getting 50 cents from our efforts here...but for the rest of the world, it truly can...Change someone's life.
Are you kidding me???
So you are saying....
With my little puny upvote on Hive. Plus my voting power on LEO as well...I can actually HELP others around the globe?
Sign. Me. Up!
Now look, I know some people may read this and say...Sure Jongo, you wanna help the world. Yeah right, you want to put money in your pocket!!
That's the beauty of Hive!
You see, we all win when the entire community wins! The curation rewards aside, to me it creates a healthy community of passionate people that lives are being changed, just by adding value here. How powerful is that?
So my approach going forward is to do more, to help others here. And while I have always thought I was doing that, I want to help more with delegation, voting, etc. I sent a small delegation to @hispapro last night thanks to Tsunsica's recommendation, plus I'm also delegating to the @hivecuba and @aliento projects as well.
Boots on the ground! These amazing projects on Hive KNOW their individual communities, and are the best at rewarding it's creators. Plus I plan to be much more active in the curation / votes on Leo Threads too. Micro earning means a whole lot more to me now after last night, as this stuff adds up and ACTUAL people are being helped!
Hey I may be just a small fish here compared to others, but imagine if we all did what we could to help everyone out with the resources we've been blessed with?
Hive will change the world! And how do I know, because it's been changing me!
