It's Hivereachout week 107 prompt, and I'm ask to write on the topic the art of caring for a strangers.
I must say that this is a very interesting topic to write about . That's because we witness this very act every day of our lives,if not in our houses,then else way.
Who are strangers?
In my own understanding, strangers are people we do not know anything about. Not knowing anything about them, doesn't mean,they do not exist.
Though we see them either on the street or else way, we cannot trust them. That's because we do not know their true identity.
So caring for a stranger should be something everyone should do. Most strangers carries blessings that you can never imagine.
Let me share two of my experiences about caring for a stranger.
Last semester, I went to fetch water at Redeem christian church of God in my area . They normally give us free water.
So immediately I arrived there, I saw a beautiful lady,dark in complexion. She started talking to me. I didn't ignore her because she was a total stranger,but I had to listen to her.
Honestly,she had a good command of English,and I was surprised. So, I saw her with a black bucket,and she also came to fetch water.
So, I noticed she had some bruises on her knees, and she told me she can't bath cold water.
I asked her where she came from, and she told me. Behold,it was very far. But I wonder what brought her to my area.
So, she pleaded with me to take her to my house and at least boil water for her,so she could take her bath. I took her to my house,and I gave her a seat to sit outside my house.
I quickly ran into my kitchen,and boil hot water for her within few seconds. After boiling the water, I took it to where she was,and she was like saying,so fast,and I said yes.
So I turned the hot water into her bucket. You needed to hear the prayers she prayed for me.
I was blessed to be a blessing to others,and I enjoyed the benefits that came after.
The second experience I had was that there was a stranger I met online. We've never seen nor know where each other stays before,but we do chat.
So one fateful night, I was sleeping at my aunt's house,so I had a phone call around twelve midnight.
I was surprised that someone had to call me at that time of the night. Unlike me that doesn't pick midnight calls, I had to pick it.
Behold,it was this online friend of mine. He told me he was very hungry that I should help him with some money.
Honestly speaking, I had one thousand naira in my account,and I was supposed to use five hundred naira the next day.
So I told him I had one thousand naira, if I send him five hundred naira, if it will be okay for him,and he said yes. I had to transfer it to him immediately. He thanked me,and I said it was fine.
After like an hoy, I saw an alert in my phone,and I was wondering what happened. So when I went to check my messages, I discovered someone sent me five thousand naira.
So when I tried to find out, I discovered it was one of my church members in the village,who once got my account number,but forgot where he kept it.
But that night, God took him to where he kept it. I was so excited to have such an amount in my account. I gave out five hundred y within an hour,but I ended up having four thousand five hundred naira as my gain. Isn't that obvious? Yes it is.
Indeed caring for strangers has paid me off, and that is one of the things I love doing,and I will continue to do it.
Not just about the act,but the blessings that come to me and my family.
Indeed it's good to partake in such activity, and if you haven't done any ever since you were born, I would advise to try something new today, and watch out for the results.
