Hello everyone!
Anger is a natural human emotion, but people deal with it in different ways. Some remain silent, while others express their frustration.

For me, I learnt to go quiet when angry, just to avoid some kind of problems and conflict. While having conversation with people, and it seems like I'll eventually get angry, I quickly withdraw from that conversation, so as not to say some harsh words that will lead to unnecessary arguments, which I don't have strength for.

Back then, when angry, I don't process my words before speaking, I pour them out as it comes to my mind, cos I tend to get angry. Let me tell y'all a little story.

"In the year 2022, around April there about, there was this particular girl who has been trying by all means to get me suspended from a dance academy that I came to and even registered a year before she even came, tho we live in same area until she did something unreasonable, and her aunt sent her packing. For no reason at all, she just doesn't want to see me and others relating well.
She started spreading fake rumors about me, she started stepping on my toes knowingly and I tried ignoring her stupid acts but she kept getting on my nerves.
I later reported her to our instructor, who took some actions against her, but still she didn't stop. I had no idea of why she was behaving like that towards me, and I kept on ignoring her words and actions towards me, until a faithful day (when her cup full).
We were resting after our last practice for the day, and she came and started insulting me, just like that (can you imagine) I stood up, faced her and I started saying hurtful words that I didn’t mean to say, I said loud and clear the reason why her aunt sent her out, to the hearing of everyone. Her tears were threatening to fall immediately those words came out of my mouth, I just exposed her secret in public and opened a book she has been trying to close. After realizing what I said, I quickly carried my bag and started leaving, but some people still followed me outside.

Some persons saw me as the bad guy while others who knew what has been happening since she came into the academy understood while I acted that way. They were like this is the first time we're seeing you raise your voice at someone. And the truth of the matter is that If only she had respected herself from the very first day or even after I reported her to our instructor, it wouldn't have resulted to me saying such words".

After that event, I learnt how to manage silent anger... Cos I also wasn't happy with my unexpected outburst. I started setting boundaries, I learnt how to express myself calmly after staying quiet due to anger. It's not always easy to overlook somethings but I had to start overlooking somethings.
I never want to be in a situation where I'll have to do or say what I'm not supposed to because of anger again, cos it kind of always leads to regrets.

I still believe that the best approach depends on the situation. If Anger is intense taking a moment to cool down before responding can be beneficial.

This is my response to the 11th day of the #@Februaryinleo daily prompt.

Ps: When your cup full, is a statement mostly used by Nigerians, in a situation where they're waiting for someone to get on their last nerve.
