SOMEONE FORGOT TO CLOSE THE GATES OF HELL

I'm writing this post sweating profusely even though I decided to take fresh air outside. Turns out the air outside isn't so fresh anymore and is just the same as the air inside. Here in the city of Port Harcourt fans can no longer make the environment cool, it just ends up spreading the heat around the room. This is coming immediately after the Harmattan season which was really short and unstable. Now the weather is as hot as hell. Just saying I mean if hell should be hotter than this I can't even begin to imagine how it would be. The dry season this year is unhealthy, and only recently I got to know that heat stroke is real.

I've been sweating profusely this period, any little work I engage in makes me sweat to the point I soak my shirt and whatever I'm resting on. For this reason, I've had to bathe late at night when I'm sure I would just sleep afterward, but then it seems the sweating can not be avoided. Although it rained here two days ago, the rain was a thing of joy as the weather suddenly became a bit cooler for the first time in weeks. I know there are places where the weather conditions are worst, but I don't think that justifies the heat this period

So time back I woke up and tried to get up, but immediately I did, I fell back on the bed. It took me some time before I could get myself, when I did, the first thing I did was to drink enough water which after I checked it was because my body was dehydrated. Last Monday, a colleague of mine almost collapsed In the office from heat stroke because his body was dehydrated, and just this morning I got to work sweating and realized I forgot to take water. I was already feeling dizzy, but managed to get water after which I was okay.

These days the weather causes our bodies to use up water faster than normal, thus the need to stay hydrated all the time. I try to drink water at least once every two hours if I remember, and when I'm doing serious work, I drink more water just to stay hydrated. I've also learned to drink plenty of water before sleeping as it now seems the last person who entered hell forgot to shut the door. I can't say exactly what the normal weather condition is again because it's been changing in recent years and I think we are beginning to know firsthand the effect of global warming. I just wish all these come to an end soon enough because sincerely speaking I would prefer to walk under the rain to work than suffer from heat stroke because of unpredictable weather. At least I've shared some adventures I've had in the past due to a heavy downpour, I think it's because of me sweating to write a post.
