So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “LAST DAYS OF 2026”.

But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “STUDENT LOANS”.

This topic was geared toward each member of the community, sharing their thoughts on the idea of students being stuck with debts that they will end up paying for the rest of their lives. Not everyone will be able to afford to pay their way through school, which would make the loans necessary, but then not everyone will be able to break away from the debts either.

We got to see that indeed, this can be a burden that will weigh on the shoulders of the students for a very long time, and it can also affect the trajectory of their lives if care is not taken. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.

STUDENT LOANS: A LIFELINE OR A LIFE SENTENCE? by @idksamad78699

The author argues that rising costs, inflation, and scarce jobs push people to debt, questioning whether student loans help or hinder, and suggesting they can be essential for low-income students but harmful if misused.

WHO SHOULD PAY THIS BILL? by @michupa

The piece weighs the fairness of forgiving student loans, arguing it helps borrowers but shifts the cost to others, and suggests the real fix is making education more affordable to prevent future debt.

STUDENT LOANS: A GOOD IDEA IN THE WRONG COUNTRY by @burlarj

A personal take arguing that student loans can be beneficial in well-functioning countries, but are a bad idea for Nigeria due to unemployment, government corruption, and the burden on taxpayers. The post urges government-backed funding with guaranteed jobs and criticizes tax burdens to cover debt.

All of the above content was supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.

But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A STUDENT CAN’T REPAY THE LOAN? by @bhattg

STUDENT LOAN IS GOOD BUT CAN ALSO BE A TRAP by @intishar

These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
