Ever since I discovered that I can occasionally spend a night being a tourist in Buenos Aires, I haven't hesitated to make it part of my weekend plans. Although I've visited the city countless times, I love it because there's always a different activity to enjoy. A while ago, I found one that I could share with my little sister, and I didn't hesitate to invite her so that, besides enjoying a night out, we could also have some quality sister time. It was a famous outdoor party that went on until midnight, and we didn't want to miss it 😃.
Desde que descubrí que cada tanto puedo ir a tener una noche de turista en Buenos Aires, no dudo en convertir en eso mi plan de fin de semana. Si bien ya visité la ciudad miles de veces, me encanta porque siempre tiene un plan diferente para ir a disfrutar. Hace un tiempo, encontré uno que podía compartir con mi hermanita y no dudé en invitarla, para, además de tener una noche de paseo, pudiéramos tener una salida de hermanas. Se trataba de una famosa fiesta al aire libre, que terminaba a la medianoche, pero que no queríamos perdernos 😃.
Last year, almost by chance, I discovered a nice and affordable hostel near the National Congress, right in the heart of Buenos Aires. Since then, this hostel has become my "home" whenever I want to go sightseeing. Besides having a good location, the facilities are comfortable, and best of all, it has a good price. However, every time I had stayed there, I had booked a bed in the shared dorms, but since I was going with my little sister this time, we booked a double room. We paid around $35 for it, which I thought was a reasonable price for a Saturday night.
El año pasado, casi sin querer queriendo, descubrí un hostel lindo y barato cerca del Congreso de la Nación, en pleno centro de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Desde entonces, este hostel se convirtió en mi "casa" cada vez que quiero ir de paseo. Además de tener una buena ubicación, las instalaciones son cómodas y lo mejor, tiene un buen precio. Sin embargo, todas las veces que fui, me quedé en los dormis compartidos, pero como esta vez iba a ir con mi hermanita, reservamos una habitación doble. Pagamos unos $35 por ella, precio que me pareció razonable para una noche de sábado.

What I like most about the city at night is the wide variety of things to do and all the public transportation options available to get wherever you want to go. Once my sister and I had settled into our room at the hostel, we headed to the event we wanted to attend. It was a reggaeton party in the Recoleta area, one of the most elegant neighborhoods in the city. To get there, we had to take a bus, and in less than 20 minutes, we had already arrived.
Lo que más me gusta de la ciudad a la noche, es la gran cantidad de opciones de cosas para hacer y de todo el transporte público que hay para llegar a cualquier lugar que quieras ir. Una vez que mi hermana y yo nos acomodamos en nuestra habitación en el hostel, nos fuimos al evento que queríamos ver. Se trataba de una fiesta de reggaeton en la zona de Recoleta, una de las más elegantes de la ciudad. Para eso tuvimos que tomarnos un bus y en menos de 20 minutos, ya habíamos llegado al lugar.

This was the Bresh party, an event that is currently held in several cities around the world. On that occasion, the Bresh party was free and took place next to the Floralis Genérica, a very famous monument in the Recoleta area. The party ran from 8 PM to 12 AM, a very convenient time for me because, now that I'm over 30, I don't like staying up too late. My sister Kiara and I went, and we had a great time among the crowd, dancing and celebrating. She turned 18 last year, so we haven't had many opportunities to go to adult parties together yet. This was one of them.
Esta fiesta es la fiesta Bresh, una que actualmente se realiza en varias ciudades del mundo. En esa oportunidad, la fiesta Bresh era gratis al lado de la Floralis Genérica, un monumento muy famoso en la zona de Recoleta. Esta fiesta se llevó a cabo desde las 8 PM hasta las 12 PM, una hora muy conveniente para mí, que como ya soy +30, no me gusta quedarme despierta hasta tan tarde. Mi hermana Kiara y yo fuimos y la pasamos muy bien entre la gente, bailando y celebrando. Ella cumplió 18 años el año pasado, así que todavía no tuvimos muchas oportunidades de ir juntas a fiestas de adultos. Esta fue una de ellas.

When the party ended, we decided to walk back to our hostel, but not before stopping to get something to eat. Walking around Buenos Aires at night feels relatively safe, or at least that's how I feel compared to my own neighborhood. Kiara and I walked more than 20 blocks through downtown at almost 1 AM, and there were quite a lot of people everywhere. Even the small hot dog stand had a long line of people waiting to get something to eat. When people say this is the city that never sleeps, I think this is exactly what they mean.
Cuando terminó la fiesta, decidimos volvernos caminando hasta nuestro hostel, no sin antes pasar a comer algo. Caminar por la Ciudad de Buenos Aires de noche es relativamente seguro, o así lo siento yo en comparación a mi barrio. Kiara y yo caminamos más de 20 cuadras en el centro casi a la 1 AM y había bastante gente en todos lados. Incluso en el pequeño local de panchos había una larga fila para comer algo. Cuando dicen que esta es la ciudad que no duerme, creo que se refieren a esto.
Our night out was more than great, and honestly, having a place nearby to sleep was a really good idea. We live 30 km from the city center, and sometimes getting back home can be chaotic, so staying downtown every now and then is a great experience. We had a wonderful time at the party, listening to all kinds of music and then having dinner late at night. Our sisters' outing turned out really well, just as I had planned, and I would even say it was better than expected ❤️.
Nuestra noche de paseo fue más que buena, y la verdad que tener un lugar cerca para dormir fue una gran idea. Nosotras vivimos a 30 km del centro de la ciudad, y a veces volver a casa puede ser caótico, por lo que hospedarse en el centro cada tanto es una buena experiencia. La pasamos muy bien en la fiesta, escuchando música de todo tipo y después cenando a altas horas de la noche. Nuestro paseo de hermanas salió muy bien, justo como había planeado y hasta diría que mejor todavía ❤️.
