Hello Hive.

I can't stop laughing; I finally got myself a sallah dress πŸ‘— πŸ₯» πŸ‘— πŸ₯». Who says we could descriminate πŸ˜„for my own part I often rejoice and celebrate every festivity that passes by me. At least we get to celebrate with neighbors.

A beautiful new day to my friends and family on the Blockchain. Another weekend has left us behind and I hope that we have been healthy, fruitful and productive.

For today's needlework project I decided to sew myself the common A-line dress that everybody loves to wear. Do you know that most Muslim women live to wear An Abaya on festive days like this.

An Abaya is a lovely free flowing dress up to the floor length of women, a sign of virtue and purity. We get to celebrate Sallah in the most modest way. Alot of these wears are ready to made, sewn and lovely embellished.

Yesterday was another Sallah and all my female Muslim wore lovely abayas round town. I felt attracted to it so much and wished to have a lovely free flowing dress as that.
Well rather than not owing one I can actually sew a resemblance of it for myself. Although most abayas are sewn in plain color I didn't have a plain fabric at home and was forced to use this very one

The basic foundation for An Abaya outfit is a A line design cut I proceeded to cut my fabric
I started with cutting the fabric. Folding it in diagonal form to add more fullness to the base.

Taking out my measurements from shoulder to bust, waist, and hip, I measured out the length and width of my body shape.

Next I cut the front and back blocks of the blouse and began to sew the dress. Turning the necklines in was often the first task before joining the seams and then folding the hemming.

I decided to sleeve a bogus sleeve for this as there are various sleeve design that can be sewn for an Abaya
The sleeve length was determined and cut which I stitched and added an elastic band to pull them together here.

This was done, and I decided to try out my dress πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„.

Guess what? My dress came out prettier than I expected. I liked that it is a very free dress yet it got some form of fitness and form.

Although I really wished that this was a plain dress so that I can do some form of embellishment on them with stones but I will most likely be sewing another one sooner than later because of how much I like this very one.
