Olympus DAO forks were all the rage a couple of months ago so I decided to jump in and try some of them out. The best way to learn about something is to get involved with it so I grabbed around $400 and bought and staked into 3 different projects in 3 different blockchains.

I usually start off a little bit slower with no more than $200 but we were in the full-fledge bull mode so I was feeling confident. I was just done rebuilding the safety fund that I depleted to invest in crypto over the last 2 years.

With my confidence at all-time highs, these were the three projects I picked, my main rule was to avoid being rug pulled:

SOLANA - Invictus DAO

Traded 0.5 SOL for 0.08432 IN
Sold 0.165 IN for 0.2635 SOL
Total: 0.2365 SOL Lost ($34)

Invictus was the first fork to be deployed on Solana and it seemed like a promising fork since SOL doesn't use the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) it showed that the devs had to put some effort into making this a solid project and were unlikely to rug.

AVAX - Wonderland AKA Time

Traded 1 AVAX for 0.0014673 TIME tokens
Sold 0.0398 for 0.58 AVAX
Total: 0.42 AVAX Lost ($36)

Wonderland was the most famous Olympus fork and with a known developer so pretty safe in terms of not getting the rug pulled.
I decided to go for a safer one as well, with less upside potential but probably less downside as well. On the bright side, I got involved and learned more about Avax in the process.

BSC - Metaverse PRO

$200 for 0.4406 META
0.8142 META for $55
Total: $145 Lost

In hindsight, I should have never jumped on this one. A friend of mine that has very little experience in crypto called me saying he was going to invest in it and I had 200 BUSD just sitting in my Metamask so I went ape mode.
Not even a minute of investigation, I just bought the bond and came back 5 days later to stake the tokens I earned. Didn't follow on Twitter or join the Discord server (textbook definition of ape mode).

The result: This monkey got a 73% fur cut.

Conclusion

The learning experience cost me $215 here are the lessons learned:

$34 to learn and use Solana Dapps and wallet, I had some SOL prior but I was only holding not interacting with the ecosystem.

$36 Learn about Avax and some Dapps

$145 Learn to not FOMO again. I've learned this before but it seems like I need a little reminder ever so often.

$??? Learning about DEFI 2.0 and DAO's.

Getting ready for Polycub, hope it goes better now that I've spent the money to learn a little bit more about the inner workings of the new DEFI era.
