For a while now I have been needing to make purchases of art supplies, little by little they have been dwindling over time. This illustration is created with the last prismacolor colors I bought and it was quite some time ago and they are already quite worn out, it still has a few battles left.

Butterflies have always been very special to me and whenever I can I make an illustration of them, for me they represent "processes" of transformation of each individual.

Over time I have been doing several illustrations with different colors, the one before this one was yellow and I thought it was spectacular, so if you have not seen it I invite you to do it, I think you don't need to travel much in my profile.

To achieve this illustration I took a reference image on "Pinterest" and I set out to mix colors and markers as well. It took a while to get to the final result, as it took a lot of pauses, something I call being unfocused by having too many things in my mind, but finally I managed to give it continuity.

I haven't written a post on Hive for a long time, and I'm having a hard time doing it, concentrating, I hope the topic of communities hasn't changed too much and I'm missing an important update. Anyway, I made the illustration in the usual way, first I made a sketch with an HB pencil and then made a soft outline with a pen. Once this is done, I always prefer to erase the original lines, I like it better that way.

Already with only my outline lines I added layers of color, exploring different materials, in the first ones I did it with colors, but I also added marker to give it more intensity, the combination offers new fabulous shades that I love.

I really liked the final result, quite nice shades of blue, pink and lilac. But despite how good it looked, I was not entirely happy with the shadow that was added. My eyes are not able to see that 3D that was expected, but they are small details that the artist always notices and that many perhaps not so much. This as I mentioned is one of many butterflies I have done, as I love them, the representation of transformation from something beautiful and small to something more complex and fabulous through processes of haste and quiet time. I hope you like this little reproduction and I would also love to know if you liked it, the colors or maybe you would have chosen other shades. I'm so glad to be back to Hive even though it took me quite a while to get the post done. Sayonara 🦋🦋
