Going back to the classics.

Wood nymph, a classic healer.

We are seeing a lot of fancy new healing cards that have come into the game over the past few years but there is always a place for those classic reward cards that got us this far.

Some of them are healers and summoners, shields, triage, it's hard to keep track sometimes.

Wood Nymph is just a simple strength and healing kind of card. It's part of the old reward set and I am lucky enough to have a Gold version at level 6.

I never bothered to max out my cards back in those days as it was not necessary to compete at a high level.

That has all changed now with all of the extra players and cards but this was a simpler time. A time when you could reach champions with just a few good cards and a bit of luck.

Unfortunately that is almost impossible now without a fully maxed out splinter and even more good luck to rise up those ranks. That is why the Nymph doesn't make too many appearances in my team anymore but within reach quest for my daily today, I am sure that she will make an appearance to help me hit my targets.

The battle

This was part of my daily quest and happy to share a very interesting battle.

It was a struggle to complete the earth quest today and took me far longer than it should have.

As you can see from watching it that I didn't manage to win this round either.

The rules were set at a 42 mana cap and "Aim true".

I should probably have gone in a different direction but wanted to get there as fast as possible and time was running out.

Starting line-ups.

This was how we lined up to start the battle and I didn't like it as soon as i saw the teams.

i was to be proven right.

First blood went to me as i took out there end of line with my maxed sand worm. One of my favorite cards.

Unfortunately the Mitica headhunter on the end combined with their Oaken Behomoth had far too much firepower for my team and they got to my tank and secondary tank with little to no resistance.

As soon as this happened the game was up.

My double heal did nothing for the cause and it was only in round four that i was down to my last and at this stage useless card.

It was a lesson learned in chasing quests instead of trying to win battles as my ratio for the night is terrible. I started off the evening with two goals.

Hit my daily quest and compete a historic battle for the splinterlands battle challenge. Unfortunately i failed at both but learned some valuable lessons along the way.

This will only help me in the future as we learn more form our losses than our victories.

Try for yourself.

If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.
