Hi, moms and dads. How are you all doing?
The school year started a few days ago for my girls, Abby is in kindergarten and Alys is in third grade. It’s amazing how fast time flies, and well, no one prepared me for watching them grow up. Even though they’re growing up slowly, whenever I look back, it all hits me at once.
The day before, I got all their school supplies and uniforms ready. To be honest, I didn’t buy much this year just what Alys needed, since some of her clothes no longer fit her because she’s grown so much. Abby was lucky enough to inherit some of her sister’s uniforms, which are still in good condition.
Just like every year, they were very happy and excited to go to school together. She always took photos of them to compare with previous years to see how much they’ve grown and also to let a few tears roll down her cheeks.
My girls went to school from the very first day, even though many of their classmates didn’t show up. I was surprised that the start of the school year didn’t feel as joyful as in other years. Abby was surrounded by her classmates from the very beginning, but Alys’s class saw higher attendance during the second week of school.
The first few days are always about getting to know their new teacher and classmates, even though they kept most of the same classmates from last year. As I’m writing this post which is for the third week of school I’ve received news that one of my daughters has changed schools, which I’ll tell you more about later.
I hope this year will be a successful one for both of them, and that I will always have the patience and wisdom needed to face every challenge in which my girls need my help.

Hola, papitos y mamitas. ¿Cómo se encuentran?
Hace varios días que comenzó el año escolar para mis niñas, Abby en sala de 5 años y Alys en tercer grado, es increíble lo rápido que pasa el tiempo y bueno nadie me preparó para verlas crecer y aunque su crecimiento es lento siempre que veo hacía atrás lo siento de un golpe.
Un día antes aliste todos sus útiles y uniformes, este año a decir verdad no compré mucho, solo lo necesario para Alys, que le han dejado de quedar algunas prendas por su estatura y Abby tuvo la suerte de heredar parte de los uniformes de su hermana que aún se encuentran en buen estado.
Como cada año ellas estaban muy contentas y alegres de ir juntas a la escuela, siempre les tomó las fotos para compararlas con los años anteriores para ver lo mucho que han crecido y también para dejar correr alguna lagrimita por el rostro.
Mis niñas fueron desde el primer día aunque muchos de sus compañeros no acudieron a las aulas de clase, me sorprendió que este inicio de clases no se sintiera con tanta alegría como en otros años, Abby estuvo acompañada por sus compañeros desde el primer momento pero el salón de Alys registro mayor asistencia la segunda semana de clases.
Los primeros días son siempre para apartarse a su nueva maestra y nuevos compañeros aunque conservaron a la mayoría del año anterior, para el momento en que me encuentro escribiendo esta publicación que corresponde a la tercera semana de clases he recibido una noticia que cambió de colegio a una de mis hijas que más adelante les comentaré.
Deseo que este año sea de éxito para ambas y que siempre pueda tener la paciencia y sabiduría necesaria para enfrentar cada reto en la que mis niñas necesiten de mi ayuda.
