Tuesday ☀️ 6976
The bitter breeze bit in my nose, but at least the sky stayed dry. I had planned a quick loop around Luiseninsel, but the park gardeners were ahead of schedule, buzzing and bustling, breaking the morning stillness. No matter. I wandered through the Palace Gardens instead, where a lone grey heron perched perfectly on the railing of the red bridge. A picture-perfect moment. No doubt about it. Some sights demand to be savored. And in the end, the best part of winter walks remains unchanged, the sharp contrast of stepping from the cold into the comforting warmth of a steaming cup of coffee.
Der eisige Wind biss mir in die Nase, doch wenigstens blieb der Himmel trocken. Ich wollte eine schnelle Runde über die Luiseninsel drehen, aber die Schlossparkgärtner waren mir zuvorgekommen, lärmend, werkelnd, die morgendliche Stille durchbrechend. Egal. Ich zog durch den Schlosspark, wo ein einzelner Graureiher malerisch auf dem Geländer der roten Brücke saß. Ein perfektes Motiv. Ohne Frage. Manche Anblicke muss man auskosten. Und am Ende bleibt das Beste an Winterwalks immer gleich, der scharfe Kontrast, wenn man aus der Kälte in die wohltuende Wärme einer dampfenden Tasse Kaffee tritt.
