Now that the dust has settled and the Waka Spiritblade has been implemented in game, lets take a look at the original cost of this card compared to the current cost of attaining one from the Splinterlands Marketplace. Before we do that lets take a look at the stats.

Waka SpiritBlade Info:

The Splinterlands card known as Waka Spiritblade is a PROMO card that has the same combine rates as Chaos Legion. This card is very unique to the Splinterlands universe as its currently the only card that has a utility that allows it to be used as an AR filter on SnapChat. It is also the first and currently only card to be linked to a celebrity (Waka Flocka: Rapper, Recording Artist, and Reality TV Star). The NFT itself is a Legendary Summoner that is equipped with the Poison ability.

What Is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a blockchain game built on the Hive Network. The game itself utilizes NFT's for game play. These NFT's can be won in battle and/or purchased from the official Splinterlands marketplace or many other secondary markets. Game play rewards players with cryptocurrency and in game assets. "What was the original cost?"

Good question, the Waka card is only available at MAX Level and like all Splinterland cards Can Not be uncombined. The WAKA card has a 1000 print Limit. If you were lucky enough to get your hands on one of these bad boys the original cost was the low price of 5000 SPS + 500 Vouchers. Ten Days Ago when I first went over the potential future value of the Spiritblade card SPS was trading at near $0.14 USD which meant 5000 SPS equaled to about $700 USD. At that same time Vouchers were trading for $2.20 USD each bringing the value of 500 Vouchers to $1100 USD. This brings us to a grand total of the Waka Spiritblade Death Summoner being valued at $1800 USD at the time of my publication just ten days ago. (Note: SPS/Voucher prices were rounded to the nearest cent). So now that we got a starting point for the original cost of the Waka Spiritblade Splinterlands NFT, lets take a look at its current price and compare the two.

Waka SpiritBlade Current Price

Looking at the Splinterlands Marketplace its going to cost someone just shy of $2,200 USD if they want to buy a Waka Spiritblade directly from market. There is only one at the $2,200 USD price with price jumps directly after. With just six sales the USD price of the Waka card jumps to $3,000 USD. Using the lowest asking price for the Waka Spiritblade card ($2,200) and subtracting the original cost ($1,800 USD) we are left with $400 USD profit. As everyone in the Splinterlands community knows, Gold Foil version of cards sell for much more than their Regular Foil counterparts. As shown above currently (Feb./28/2022) there are no Gold Foil versions of this card available for sale on the official Splinterlands Marketplace. Its very likely you didn't get your hands on one of these bad boys as they were limited supply and sold out within One Minute. I seen claims from respected members of the Splinterlands community that it took just 12 seconds for the all so familiar "Sold Out" sign to plague unsuspecting customers. There is still a chance to purchase one of these directly from Splinterlands but you will need to do so using WAX. Out of the 1000 Print Rate 500 have already been sold on the Splinterlands Marketplace. The other 500 are reserved for purchase in WAX. Details on how much WAX each card will cost is not known at this time.

If you wanted to but were unable to get your hands on one of these Promo edition cards, No Worries, as it was recently announced that Splinterlands has teamed up with Warner Music Group which likely means we will see some additional celebrity collaborations with Splinterlands. Plus there is always the rental market that allows us to enter 24 hour contracts with our fellow Splinterland players in exchange for use of a specific card. If you want to use the Gold Foil version of Waka Spiritblade it will cost you 5,000 DEC to do so (only one rental currently available). The regular foil version is more reasonably priced at just 200+ DEC. Its currently nearing the end of our *bi-weekly Splinterland League Season and Rental prices are usually on the higher end at this time so if you want to be cost wise and wish to rent a Waka Spiritblade its best to rent one at the start of a new season (this is true for any card rental).
