Today I want to tell you something curious that recently happened to me!
I was having coffee with some writers, and someone who was reading a copy of my book that I had lent him called me to give it to me. Since I was nearby, I went to pick it up. One of the writers came with me, wanting to read the book, and I told him I'd lend it to him.
Well, I picked up the book, handed it over, and everything was normal up to that point.
Well, it turns out my writer friend leaves, and I'm left talking to the girl who had returned my book, and she starts talking to me about her daughter.
She tells me she's an artist, a painter, and starts showing me photos of paintings her daughter has done.
Suddenly, a surprise!
I see a painting of a portrait of someone I know very well. It was a painting of a girl I saw being born, practically the same age as my son, who was also an artist for a time here in #cuba before emigrating.
What a small world!
It turns out they had studied together and were very good friends, and I had made the painting as a surprise gift for her because she'll soon be going to the US to exhibit, and I'll bring it back. How wonderful!

¡Hoy quiero contarles algo curioso que recientemente me sucedió!
Estaba tomando café con unos escritores y, alguien que se estaba leyendo un ejemplar de mi libro que le había prestado, me llama para entregármelo. Como estaba cerca pues fui a recogerlo. Me acompañó justo uno de los escritores, que quería leerse el libro y le dije se lo prestaría entonces.
Bien, recojo el libro, entrego el libro y todo normal hasta ahí.
Pues resulta que el amigo escritor se va y me quedo hablando con la muchacha que me había devuelto el libro y me comienza a hablar de su hija.
Me dice que es artista, que es pintora y comienza a mostrarme fotos de cuadros hechos por su hija.
De pronto, ¡una sorpresa!
Veo un cuadro con un retrato de alguien que conozco muy de cerca. Nada más y nada menos era un cuadro de una niña que vi nacer prácticamente y tiene la edad de mi hijo y que también fue artista un tiempo acá en #cuba antes de emigrar.
¡Qué pequeño el mundo!
Resulta que habían estudiado juntas y eran muy amigas y le había hecho el cuadro como regalo sorpresa porque pronto irá a EEUU a exponer y le llevará el cuadro. ¡Qué maravilla!
