Hello Splinterlands warriors, welcome back to my post.

Since October 13, 2026, Praetoria has welcomed some unusual visitors. Spooky costumes are starting to appear, the Halloween atmosphere is getting stronger, and card collections are getting a chance to show off a much scarier look.

The event is called Hallow’s Fall 2026.

Personally, I always find events like this interesting. Splinterlands isn’t just about who owns the strongest cards; it’s also about how players enjoy their collections. Every now and then, there’s nothing wrong with giving your favorite monsters a different look. After all, if they have to wear the same faces every day, maybe even monsters want a change of clothes.

This year, Hallow’s Fall features 43 skin designs, consisting of 20 Spooky skins, 20 Haunted skins, and three additional skins that can be purchased with Sparks or DEC. On top of that, five Halloween stickers are available in the main shop.

That’s quite a few options for giving your collection a fresh look.

Spooky or Haunted?

There are two main skin categories that caught my attention: Spooky and Haunted. Both offer Halloween-themed appearances, but the ways to obtain them are different.

Thirteen Spooky skins are available in the Glint Shop from October 13 through November 6, 2026. Their prices depend on the rarity of the corresponding cards, starting at 500 Glint for Common, 2,500 Glint for Rare, 8,000 Glint for Epic, and 20,000 Glint for Legendary.

This is where I start thinking twice before spending my Glint.

As a player, I have to decide what deserves priority. Should I use my Glint to strengthen my collection with cards that are useful in battle, or save some for seasonal skins that might not be available forever?

There’s no single answer that works for everyone. Players focused on team strength might prefer cards, while collectors may consider limited-edition skins an important part of their collections.

Meanwhile, Haunted skins offer a different kind of challenge. Only 10 copies of each design are available, with chances to obtain skins through Minor, Major, and Ultimate Chests. The respective drop rates are 1%, 2%, and 3%.

Keep in mind that these percentages represent the chance of obtaining a skin from the corresponding chest, not a guarantee of receiving a specific character’s skin.

Ultimate Chests began offering skin rewards on October 15, so from that date onward, this reward path has also become part of the event.

Skins Are More Than Just New Cards

There’s one thing I think is worth pointing out: skins are cosmetic items. They can be applied to supported foils of the same character, as long as we own that character. This means we don’t need to purchase a separate skin for every foil we own.

For new players, this is important information to avoid miscalculating collection costs.

I also see this event as an opportunity to explore another side of the Splinterlands community. Not every player is chasing rankings or battle rewards. Some enjoy collecting, hunting for limited editions, and customizing their cards to suit their tastes.

The five Halloween stickers, available for 200 DEC each, add even more options for players who enjoy expression and collecting.

My honest take is that Hallow’s Fall 2026 offers some fun variety, but we don’t need to chase everything. Limited skins can certainly be tempting, especially when only a few copies exist. However, scarcity doesn’t automatically make every purchase profitable.

So, set a budget before shopping, check the reward paths and deadlines, and choose the skins you genuinely like. Enjoy the Halloween atmosphere in Praetoria, but don’t let your monsters look scarier than the state of your wallet.
