Greatest Works of Art is the fifteenth studio album by Taiwanese singer Jay Chou. The album was released on July 15, 2022 by JVR Music. The album was produced by Jay Chou himself. Six singles were released before the album between 2018 and 2022. The song "I Truly Believe" was released in 2019 as the theme for the 2019 Chinese action movie Skyfire. The album, named for the title track "Greatest Works of Art", is an homage to modern European art and culture. Also, Jay Chou himself is an avid art collector.
According to a report published by IFPI in March 2023, Greatest Works of Art sold 7.2 million copies worldwide in 2022 and became the best-selling album of 2022. Greatest Works of Art sold five million copies in China in its first week, the highest first-week sales for an album worldwide. This record was previously held by Adele's album 25, which sold 3.38 million copies in its first week of release in the United States in 2015. The album still holds the first week sales record. Jay Chou is probably the biggest Mandopop star of the 21st century, in particular, I can say that I have heard his song "Won't Cry" a lot. Jay Chou's songs really are like some kind of magic. To be honest, when I first listened to his songs, I thought they were mediocre, but after listening to them for a long time, I realized that both the songs and his voice are quite good.
