Rightly, music is an intelligent product and tool that exert powerful strides on our "inner" person and impact on it positively or otherwise.
The Importance of music to our soul can't be overly emphasised. Many scholars have likened it as a good food with enough nutrients. Good food, when properly processed can be very essential and beneficial to the human body. Our energy and other supplements depends solely on the nutrients from the food. So Music with its powerful and well thought lyrics and tunes can educate, inspire and appeal to our emotions and soul in general.
Virtually, every human culture and traditions have musical bearings. Even the growth of many music genres comes from various humans activities and culture. For example, Hip-hop and rap music, commonly among the Black Americans have its lyrics filled with hate, anger, crime and violence emanating from their suffering and poor background occasioned from the notoriety and hard-handness, they experienced during slave trade, racism and limited economic opportunities. Some of these music calm or inspire them and create economic opportunities for financial freedom.
Music plays important role in worship and glorifying our God. No matter how we choose to serve him, a form of music are employed to create a calm, peaceful and quiet scenery for the worship. For example, Christians worship with hymns and songs with lyrics composed from the Bible to teach their devotees, good moral as well as to glorify Jehovah God. Even, a group of dedicated and devoted people leads in this field as their work are highly appreciated and good to worship God. Not only Christians, other devotees including pagan worship uses songs in their activities.
Music touches the emotional aspect of the human. Every music genres have their distinctive impact on every individual. I prefer Blues, Pops and souls on how they elate and appeal to my emotions. Some of the classical songs of Celine Dion have ways of arousing my feelings and longing for my woman. We still play such romantic tunes in our bedroom and they set us in motion for many good times afterwards. Such tunes are lovely and exciting.
