Hello everyone,
This is yet another new week with a great topic to be discussed. Let's talk about Web3 and it's Challenges.

What is Web3

The evolution of tech-world is very amazing. Internet have really been useful in globalization and world economies. The information shared and converge is very optimal with the help of internet.

However, The initial/original versions of web is called the Web 1.0. It dominates the internets at the early 1990's with common internet pages with static contents displayed. There is no feedback mechanism on this version as the users are consumers only.

The Ushering of Web 2.0 at the start of 2000 brought a positive changes. There are feedback mechanism and paradigm change from the users being the consumers to becoming the content creators. There is centralization of the internet control as the mega tech-giants like Google, Facebook etc manages their sphere absolutely. The identity of users and data are handled absolutely by those corporations. But, the users can engage with those interfaces. The internet became digitalized and interactive. The users becomes content creators by publishing/upholding of posts and contents, video/pictures sharing, commenting, music streaming/upholding etc. The proliferation of Mobile phone contributes to the success story of Web 2.0 as it increase the numbers of internet users and accessibility.

The emergence of Web3 is well pleasing to many. As it brings a lot of positive impacts. Web3 is decentralized and blockchain technology based. The identity of the users and data is on the dicreption of the users. It has several incentive packages as many of the Web3 projects gives out crypto coins to their users. The users.

The Challenges Of Web 3.0
Despite the innovatives motives of Web 3.0, there are challenges, it facing. These challenges includes:

  • Centralization.
  • Scalability
  • Poor IU/UX

Centralization
Although Web 3.0 is an internet with user bound economies with protocols of structured incentives for the nodes, participants and developers, but still rely on centralized platforms to functions. For instance, Opensea, Metamask etc depends on influra,a backend or infrastructural as a Service(IaaS) Provider. Web 3.0 should be decentralized absolutely, not depending on centralized platforms to run their services. These centralized platforms still manage the identity of the users and data of the people, believed to be on decentralized platforms. Which is very wrong!Web 3.0 is very slow to evolves and depends on architectures of others to performs.

Scalability
Many Web 3.0 projects have priorities scalability over decentralization and security as one out of trilemma that impediments blockchain technology. With this, those projects are very fast and their transaction is very low but rely on centralized platforms to functions. Those services are not secured as many of these projects are hacked because they are not fully decentralized, leading to huge losses.

Poor IU/UX
The interfaces and user experience on the Web 3.0 projects are still poor when compared to web 2.0. Web 2.0 projects like Facebook, Amazon etc boasts of well designed with coloured interface where users understood easily and interact freely unlike web 3.0 projects whose ultimate aim is to have a secured and decentralized platform thereby affecting their interface and user experiences.

Conclusion
Web 3.0 is still very much appreciated but more positive changes on it is needed. Those problems facing the Web 3.0 projects as mentioned above have solutions and it will come by. The evolution of Web 3.0 into other enhanced versions like Web 5.0 etc are encouraged.
