An happy Sunday to all hivers here!
It's a sunny warm weekend here and so yesterday me and my hubby spent our free time outside.
In the late afternoon, in a museum in the center of my city (Pistoia, Italy) there was the opening of a small exhibition of a famous italian contemporary artist: Carol Rama.

Olga Carolina Rama, best known as Carol Rama, was an Italian self-taught artist born in Turin in the 1918. Her first artworks (especially watercolors) explore the erotism and the sexual identity of female figures. Along the time she explored the abstractism and she experimented with different medium and materials. You can read more about her life and her way on art here: https://www.archiviocarolrama.org/en/carol-rama and on wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Rama .

The exhibition in my city is part of an art project called "In Visita" promoted by Fondazione Pistoia Musei to exhibit in a temporary way the artworks of the main italian artists of the 20th-century placed between the artworks in the rooms dedicated to the local artists active during the last century. For this edition the temporary exhibition focuses on Carol Rama (Turin, 1918–2015).

The artworks by Rama are just few and they are abstract ones, but even if I don't love so much these kind of style, the exhibition was very interesting for me.

In the first pic you can see the painting titled "Composizione 71" (1955), the same printed on the flyers:

That painting is my favorite one of the group of seven artworks exhibit there. I like how the shade of ocher on the background works with the black and white of the shapes.
The next one in red titled "Bricolage R 4" (1964) she used acrylic, tempera, glue and metal spheres on a canvas:

The next 3 ones was place in a dark niche and it was difficult to take decent pics, sorry. The third one (the pic is very bad, sorry) is interesting because the materials she used: the old bicycle inner tubes.

The next 2 ones (the last ones exhibit there) was placed in a narrow corridor and so it was not simple to take pics of them. The first one is another piece made using bicycle inner tubes and the second one is embroidered.

As usual, the pics can't reminds the same emotions to watch an artwork in real, but I hope you appreciated this sort of "virtual tour". ❤️

See ya soon and stay safe,
Silvia
