Hello friends and Holozing community, what a joy to return almost a week later with a new drawing blog. I hope you're having a lovely day today. Today I'm not bringing you a new chapter of the Holozing comic, although I have been working on the next installment; it will still take a few more days to be completely ready. A year ago (time flies), I was doing Zingtober, that October challenge I enjoyed so much where the Holozing universe was combined with Inktober, and although this year I took a sabbatical from Inktober, I can't help it when some prompts inspire me, as was the case with the day one prompt: Apple. So, with apples as the protagonist this month, I've made more than five drawings with this theme.

Today I bring you a drawing that unites two themes that seem to have nothing to do with each other: Holozing and apples. I like to unite themes that seem unrelated because the result always surprises. That's how I drew this little ink badge inspired by Zingu enjoying an apple; as you know, Zingu is also part of the comic I'm drawing, so I draw him a lot. I wanted to keep the drawing in a single ink to respect the spirit of Inktober. Allow me, then, to share my drawing process with you step by step.

I began my drawing by centering the elements of the composition in a small sketch, working with rounded and symmetrical shapes to achieve the balance I wanted; I want the drawing to be pretty but at the same time somewhat simple.

By the third step I already had all the elements of the drawing in their final version with lines and fills; I also thought about how to integrate small flowers with many symmetrical petals into the drawing.

Setting the flowers aside, I decided to try enclosing the composition in a circle. I liked the result, so I'll include the previous flowers inside the circle or in the corners as in the first plan. The composition of Zingu and the apple would then be enclosed in a circle, and inside the circle there would be a small background of flowers and dotted lines.

I made a small visual map of the process, from the sketch and the flow of ideas to the final result and the list of prompts for this October.

I also share with you a small GIF animation of the entire process; I hope you like it.

This was the final clean result. With white I added some highlights to recover the volumes I had lost with the black fill color. I placed my drawing on a paper texture and with that I considered it finished. I hope you enjoyed my drawing and the creation process. Perhaps next year we'll return with Zingtober/Inktober, but for now let's stay creative by drawing. A big greeting and, as always, all the luck and success in the world. Bye bye.
Chau chau.
