Are you familiar with @leo.voter?
This is the official curation project of Leofinance. It is used by a variety of curators to rewards content creators on the platform.
While that is the basics of the account, there are many benefits to Leofinance and what is being developed that comes from this initiative.
First, let us see what delegators get.
Earning LEO
The payout from delegating to the leo.voter account is 16% annually. This is paid daily in LEO. So, essentially one is delegating HP and getting LEO in return.
For those unaware, delegation of HP means you still retain ownership. Any adjustment earned to compensate for inflation (presently 2.85% annually) is yours. At the same time, all governance is still in your control. That is based upon owned HP, regardless of where it is at any given moment (delegated or not). Finally, any airdrops are also yours since, for that purpose, it is in your wallet.
What is not yours is the curation rewards. That goes to the account in an effort to build it up. More on this in a moment.
The reason why I increased the amount of delegation is tied to the post Leofinance In A Year Or Two. In this article we discussed how things are really starting to come together for the Leofinance ecosystem. It is a long-term project and getting as much LEO as possible makes sense to me. Since there are daily payouts, it can be put to immediate use by staking. This compounds through Leo Power curation rewards.
Basically, the optimism around Leofinance means that I want to get my hands on even more LEO. That are opportunities that can be life changing. This is not financial advice but I believe this to be one of them.
Leo.voter Helps Leo Members
We need to keep in mind that the Leo.voter account have 3 different people who go through and manually curate content. They are spending their time looking for articles that are worthy of the upvotes. Since there are a few individuals, each person is going to have different criteria. This helps to spread the LEO out.
There is another factor in this. The account now has some significant HP in it. Thus, Leo supporters are also rewarded with some HP in their accounts. This is another way that we can make ourselves stronger as a community on Hive. Increasing our holdings of HP only gives us more influence when it comes to on-chain governance. This is something that will have an even bigger impact in June.
Thus, we see the circular nature of things. While I give up a bit of HP curation, I more than make it up with LEO received. At the same time, the extra HP in the Leo.voter account helps to spread the payouts from the reward pool due to expanded reach in curation.
Here is where we see the Proof-of-Brain component of the Leofinance ecosystem getting even stronger.
Claiming Accounts
One of the features that is lost by delegating HP is the ability to claim accounts with that stake. We see that this falls into the hands of the ones who was delegated the HP.
Here again, we might have members who do not know what this is. Account creation can be done when enough Hive is powered up. This is how individuals or applications can generate accounts for users.
On PeakD, it looks like this:

Claiming accounts is what enables the onboarding of new users. Of course, the more HP that is available, the more than can be claimed on a weekly basis.
Leofinance is going to need a lot of accounts. If what was forecast in the above linked article, we are going to see a massive increase in the people who join Hive. This is likely going to occur with the release of #projectblank.
Delegating HP to that account helps to offset this need. It is likely that Leofinance is amassing a number of accounts in preparation of the day when it will need them all.
Here again, as a stake holder in the Leofinance ecosystem, it is up to each of us to do what we can to help things moving forward. While there is an individual payout, we know the true value of what is being created here will come as a result of onboarding more users.
In the end, this is a good project to delegate HP to. It helps to build one's stake in LEO which could have a profound impact upon our financial lives down the road.
The next year or two on Leofinance is going to be very exciting.
