The tribes can be a game changer if people will focus upon them. The simple fact is that it is easier to get recognized for one's contributions in smaller "ponds" while also being able to build a nice stake for oneself. The more focused a tribe is, the easier it is to stand out if one has expertise in that arena.

This is certainly the future of how we operate. Communities are what social media is basically built around. What constitutes a community is up to the members.
