Sublime and Beautiful Sunday a few sunrises here and there around New Bedford MA
This post is for #sublimesunday, inspired by @c0ff33a, and #beautifulsunday is initiated by @ace108.
Good morning, and have a great day.
Mine, I will be taking it easy, my wife had swollen glands and I took her to urgent care the other day, and they checked and found out she has Mono. I have different symptoms: an itchy throat and achy all over along with lacking energy, which apparently can also be symptoms of Mono, so we're both taking it easy, staying home for the most part, and resting.
That said I did duck out for a walk this morning, still out now as I share this actually but not over doing it.
As I prepare this post a week in advance, we have a fairly strong Nor'easter coming through. It's rainy and fairly windy out, but not yet at the peak of what we will get, so no getting out for a sunrise walk this morning. I decided to share a few nice sunrise photos from recent walks around the area.
Starting with this photo on the Cove walk one of two walkways built on different stretches of the hurricane barrier walls here in New Bedford. If the storm does pick up as much as the forecasts are saying, many residents will welcome these walls and the gates that close them off in a couple of spots to protect properties, particularly those close to the water.
So that was the reason I decided to start with this one

Now this is a spot I didn't often visit in the morning when I thought there would be a nice sunrise. On those days, I always had a tendency to like to catch the sunrise colors over the water on the coast, but recently on a couple of occasions, I did walk into the historic district when there were some nice colors in the sky for a change, and I am happy to have done so something a bit different
This is the Zeiteron Theatre, which has recently been extensively refurbished.

And another spot I like visiting is the Port of New Bedford. Whether I am expecting a nice sunrise or not, the fishing industry is such a big industry here in New Bedford

And this is on Pope's Island, at a dock I hadn't walked into before. Often the gate to this area is closed, but one morning recently the gate was open, and a few people were in there, and I checked with them if it wa OK to head in and get some photos, and they were fine with it

And to finish off, still on Pope's Island, at the end looking towards Fairhaven
Now, to the left, you may make out some blurry geese; I normally edit those out, but left them this time.
The reason being to explain that when there is not much light, I need to take long exposures; I think in this case the longest exposure was 30 seconds, so the moving geese become, I guess, ghostly-looking is a good way to explain it

And that’s all folks
